Its funny in Need for Speed the cops were quoted as saying "we're in hot pursuit of the Scighera". haha Like most cops would even be able to name regular supercars on the street.

Technically just a modified car, but I recall from early nineties a DeTomaso Pantera that was so expensively conceived it would justify the "One of" statue.

The trouble is I dont have pics or much info of it, since Ive long since lost the magazine it was featured in.
So, maybe someone else remembers:

- It was deep red
- It was probably made by some american shop, most likely based in California.
- The guy ordering the car had connections to Nasa and the exhaust was made from some special material, which was apparently difficult to handle since the first version was a failure and more of the material was needed.

I made an attempt to search this a while ago, but nothing came up.

 

The only one that comes to mind when thinking of tuned Pantera's is this one:
