  1. I think I'd take the Prowler anyday, this looks like a dune buggy<!-- Signature -->

And my Grandfather would take a Cadillac or a Buick instead of this. So what? This is a webpage for enthusiasts. Enthusiasts. People who DRIVE there cars. People who modify and and improve the vehicles they have. People who live, breathe, and love performance.

The Prowler isn't even in the same performance league.

  3. Re: Prowler VS. Superlight R300

    No comparison

    Kick prowler's a$$

  4. Re: Prowler VS. Superlight R300

A PROWLER? My god you are a moron. The Prowler is hideous, slow, and handles like a shit box....how anyone could want it, I haven't a clue!

  5. Re: Prowler VS. Superlight R300

I'm not one to bash cars..., but I have to agree. The Prowler sucks. Not only is it ugly, but it is slow for a 'supercar' And you are looking at the perfomance specs on this thing with 160 hp. With that 230 horse engine, it would have less than 5hp/pound. That would make it haul ass.<!-- Signature -->

the prowler is the 2nd most hideous chrysler-pt cruiser anyone?<!-- Signature -->

  7. Re: Prowler VS. Superlight R300

I would take a Prowler out to pick up some chicks, and take the Caterham out when I want to road race. Both cars have their different strengths and weaknesses. The Prowler having the looks, and the Caterham being the one that cooks. They're both great cars. And for those of you who think the Prowler is ugly and garbage, it NEVER ceases to attract positive attention to the car and it's occupants, and that is what it was designed for. Sure it would have been better with Chrysler's 488 C.I. V10, but that's typical modern car engineering for you.

When i see a prowler, i spit on it. The people that are attracted to Prowlers are idiots who are also attracted to PT cruisers. I would take this car in a second.<!-- Signature -->

  9. Re: Prowler VS. Superlight R300

    Why even compare??

The prowler isn't even close to this car on the performance side, but come on, would you ride something like that on a daily basis? No roof, no windshield, no doors, no nothing.

If I were to race, I'd take this anytime, way better handling and performance. But if I was to buy a car for actually using it, I'd take a prowler.

Even then, a Prowler couldn't be my daily car, with rain, snow wind and such.

all rihgt i hate the pt cruiser. but i think the prowler is remarkable looking. but in terms of perforance this car is better. the prowler is more of an accessory judged by its low performance horrible handling. one person in my subdivision owns one these they are quite amazing and fast just dont drive it on the road cz if someone throws a rock at you...your screwed

I agree completely. I like the Prowler for its looks, and the PT Cruiser sucks. So if you think people that like Prowlers like PT Cruisers too, your wrong. The only similarity is the front. This I would take for performance, and I would definately ad a couple things.. like maybe a windsheild.<!-- Signature -->

I adore the Prowler. However, I would never buy a PT Cruiser. I wouldnŽt even take it as a present (well, maybe take it, sell it and buy a better one). And IŽm pretty sure there are million ways to make a Prowler better in handling and faster.
However, 3 colleagues of mine are working on their own concept car (tubular chassis, 2 liter engine is from a renowned german manufacturer), and I had the pleasure of driving it. DonŽt ask: It is the BEST car I have driven in my short life. Even with that non-tuned engine (wich performs quite poor in itŽs original place) I kicked an S2000Žs ass! Acceleration takes your breath, kicks you in the chest when you step on the gas pedal, not speaking of cornering... It is like the car was glued to the road surface (I must admit, my colleagues used some fine ingredients in the suspension, but itŽs still amazing).
Believe me, these types of cars are unbeatable on the track, but you would go crazy if you had to drive this everyday...

I drive one of these *EVERY DAY* - and I can tell you that I get far more "cool car!", "nice ride" and wolf whistles than anyone in a prowler would. Kids love my car, adults love my car - it has universal appeal. The only people who hate my car are those who try to race me at stop lights <IMG SRC="http://www.supercars.net/servlets/cMsg/html/emoticons/smile.gif">

i think the prowler would be a little better if it wasnt just made for looks. this car looks good and will get peoples attention when its driving. i know if a prowler and this were to both drive by me i would be looking at this thing.

  15. Re: Prowler VS. Superlight R300

    Well...

First, I wouldnt consider the Prowler or the Superlight an "everyday car". Even if that magazine Road and Track's evaluation called the Super Seven a possible everday commute car, that car is pure sport. Its the kind of car that you see in the summer around the beach to show off to the people that you have the money and some extended taste.

Of course, if I were to pick a car out of the 2, I would choose the Superlight with no decision. Prowlers suck. Period. It was Chrysler's attempt to bring back the moments of the American muscle car gone horribly wrong. And not only that Superlights definitely have a more stranger niche if anyone were to ever see it in the American Public.

  16. Re: Prowler VS. Superlight R300

What's wrong with the Pt-Cruiser. It's better looking than your average mini-van, and can do just about as much. Mind you I would never buy one, but it does a decent job at what it was intended to do. You don't like the PT cruiser? Great, just stop whining about it.

  17. Re: Prowler VS. Superlight R300

Yeah, this is correct. The Caterham is good on performance but little else. The Prowler isn't worth anything, not in performance or driving comfort anyway. Cars that are made just for looks and nothing else are pointless, like those damned economy cars with wings higher than the roof.

  18. Re: Prowler VS. Superlight R300

Im glad the prowler is dead, either that or they shouldve of given speed to go with its looks

  19. Re: Prowler VS. Superlight R300

i dont quite understand how when a caterham or lotus is brought up, prowlers and pt cruisers come into the conversation. i think this car, and especially the R500, deserve better.

  20. Re: Prowler VS. Superlight R300

This very nice, I prefer it to the prowler definatly, its the sort of thing u can pull up to some wannabe boy-racer at night, they think u be a walkover, give u the compulsary 2-fingers, and u whoop em on the green light. U just have to ignore em when they catch u further down the road.

  21. Re: Prowler VS. Superlight R300

first of all yeah the prowler may be a good car and evrything but it was definatly designed with modern society in mind. and th looks of the caterham were designed around colin chapman who was a 5'6 tal man in the 1960's. now for a car that was designed for a person and not the world to be going that fast is a bloddy good achievment if you ask me so in my eyes the caterham wins hands down and thats not because its my favourite car or anything. well the r500 is. so if you want to get noticed its got to be the caterham what other cars do you know that have been banned in some countries bacause of the noise and the exhaust spits out balls of fire. the only other cars i can think of are out and out racing cars. so if you want fun and history all in one car its the caterham and if you want boredom and normality the prowler is the car for you(unlucky).
