Autocar managed a time of 13.02secs for the 911 Turbo(with power kit), although it was easily beaten by the Caterham R500 & Zonda <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>

ya but the enzo was the true champion in R&T's test, with a time of like 11.7 seconds total as i recall. It was only .2 seconds slower than a superbike (albeit from 1994). what was the time of the zonda?

Yeah, the XD50 (I've also seen it as X50) power package is a factory tuning package that you can order for any car in the 911 series (excluding the GT2 which is not characterized as a 911). The XD50 package is only available to 911s with a manual tranny. To my knowledge, you can only recieve the package if you order it before the Porsche factory assembles your car. For a 911 Carrera, the package will give your car an extra 25 horses and an extra 35 horses for the Turbo. From what I remember, the package costs an additional $8,000(USD) for the Carrera and an additional $11,000(USD) for the Turbo. In my opinion, the XD50 Carrera and Turbo can be considered production cars rather than modified cars because the Porsche factory tunes the cars before they deliver them to the buyer(s).

    yay for porsche... Again!

that was a good article (i got that mag). its also hard to consider a zonda, considering i belive there are only a very few hundred, while 1000's of turbo porsches.

    yay for porsche

hey, sorry bud, but if you read the entire magazine, you would also realose that it wasnt the best one that they tested. it was the best out of the ones that they tested in the origional 8, but then they later tested a ferrari enzo that beet its time by 2 seconds. the only vehicle to beet that time was a 1994 kawasaki motorcycle. Personally, the 911 turbo is my favorite but its hard to beet a car that costs sevral houndred thousands more (minus saleen s7) and is 3 years newer. im not trying to prove anyone wrong here or anything, but just simply stating that it did get beet and therfore isnt the true king

  10. Re: R&T DECLARES 911 TURBO 0-100-0 MPH KING!!!

    I think it costs $17,000 not $11,000

    Uhhh McLaren F1 LM 0-100-0 11.5 sec

  12. Re:

It seems to me that you could just save your $11000-$17000 and mod it yourself for a whole lot less. But of course it would then cease to be stock <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>
