R&T handling - Veyron vs. Enzo vs. CGT

Discussion in 'Car Comparisons' started by ajzahn, Dec 29, 2006.

  1. Bugatti 16/4 Veyron

    Lateral acceleration* 0.94g
    Balance mild understeer
    Slalom speed** 68.0 mph
    Balance mild understeer
    Lateral seat support excellent
    *200-ft skidpad; **700-ft slalom, 100-ft spacing.

    Ferrari Enzo

    Lateral acceleration
    (200-ft skidpad).......1.01g
    Balance .......mild understeer
    Speed through
    700-ft slalom.......73.0 mph

    Porsche Carrera GT

    Lateral acceleration
    (200-ft skidpad).......0.99g
    Balance .............moderate understeer
    Speed through
    700-ft slalom.......71.1 mph
    Balance.......mild understeer
  2. ... not to mention the ...

    2006 Caterham CSR

Speed through 700-ft slalom: 79.8 mph
    200-ft Skidpad: 1.03g

    Saleen S7 Twin Turbo

    Lateral accel (200-ft skidpad): 1.03g
Speed throgh 700-ft slalom: 69.9 mph
  3. what else did you expect from a 1.9 tons supercar?

also take a look at the power-to-weight ratios:

    538 -- Bugatti 16/4 Veyron
    478 --- Ferrari Enzo
    439 --- Porsche Carrera GT

, seems that power is not everything
  4. Hey Axel, if those numbers mean everything

    as acheived by R&T

    SSC Ultimate Aero

    Slalom: 73.1 mph
    Skidpad: 1.05 Gs

wtf now Axel? Numbers mean it all right? And with the same suspension and body set up, it now has 150 more hp, so the slalom is probably even faster. Dude, grow up, you're 30 years old, and act like a 10 year old when it comes to inanimate objects that are just means of transportation.
  5. I agree to you as the Bugatti is no more than just a mean of transportation, no need to make such a hype about it especially when the figures show the truth <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/wink.gif"></A>
  6. Holy Jeezus.
  7. the Enzo pwned it seems
  8. The veyron is close to enzo and CGT. We all know that is not as radical as the porsche or the ferrari, is more designed to open roads no to the track.
I expected more from the S7TT its numbers are great but the slalom speed is lower than enzo or CGT....
  9. I guess traction issues mean nothing to you.
  10. on a track, i'd probably give the nod to the Veyron because of raw acceleration.
  11. tht was what I mean that the S7 is very hard to drive at the limit... for sure more than many other cars that achieve very similar figures
  12. And braking.
It's 2 seconds faster from 0-100-0 then the Carrera GT and Enzo.

And Slalom and lateral accaleration numbers aren't everything either.
  13. withen the first like 25 meters out of a turn, the Veyrons speed would have destroyed any margin the Enzo and CGT may have gained because of handling.
  14. every time i see the Carrera GT i just have to say what the hell was porsche thinking when they didnt make it a full on coupe?
  15. Hi, I'm Axel and I completely missed the point.
  16. Did you really expect it to handle as well as the Enzo and CGT? Either way, the Veyron's straight line abilities more than make up for this small difference.

    Veyron >>> Dauer <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/wink.gif"></A>
  17. none, i can beat them all on foot.
  18. Has anybody figures of the same type of test of other cars?
    For example F430, M5, 997Turbo, 997GT3....
please post them or posta link

So that must mean it handles better then the 996 GT3?
That's pretty impressive if you ask me.
  22. you cant compare slalom and skidpad times/data from different days. track temprature plays such a big roll, same with humity (and obviously weather its raining or not). the Veyron is 4700 lbs with the driver, its handling data is VERY impressive taking that fact into consideration.
  23. everytime the Enzo's the lead, someone "bet" the Caterham-card.... <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/wink.gif"></A>
  24. 4700 lbs is very unimpressive.
