  1. so i started work today, seems like it'll be a really nice place to work, once i get up to speed with everything. i already gots my Secret clearance (top secret in the works), only thing i need now is a computer in my cubicle ;_;

working on the Global Hawk ground systems integration, which right now seems to be "hey steve, go watch your coworkers debug the flight program, kthx <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>" so hopefully i'll catch on quick so i can actually do some myself here soon.

  2. Awesome, I'll be maintaining Raytheon's civilian aircraft. What exactly involves the ground systems integration?

  3. certainly more than i've been shown thus far... but particularly integrating the work various other groups like Northrop Grumman (and Raytheon) have done with the UAV flight programs. at least that's the sort of stuff they're going to have me work on.

  4. oh and my commute is perfect. it's like 7 minutes.

  5. Mine is about 8 times longer than that. <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/sad.gif"></A>

  6. Are the GH pilots in the same location as you or somewhere else? You should ask if you can fly one.

  7. Sick. My friend's mother is working on some UAV program for Boeing. I think she's working on the flight interface, because she's an ergonomic specialist who designs fighter aircraft cockpits for a living.

  8. hell no. they're all out in CA er something, where all the GH's are.

  9. sweet. they're doing ergo/human factors work on the flight interface at my place too. im not working on it, though that would be a cool project...

  10. There's a random warehouse out in the 'industrial' business district here that's a Northrop Grumman building. I have no idea what it's for/what they do there.

  11. Which Ratheon? I may have asked, and I think you said east coast. But there is a major Ratheon facility a couple miles from my (Northrop) site.

  12. they engineer baby-pitchforks there. it's not something to advertise to the public.

    until the super bowl! :D

  13. Falls Church, VA

  14. My father recently bought an Raytheon marine navigation system.

It looks nice but I still have to get my hand on it.

  15. They probably house their wares there.

  16. Too bad its not a household name like HONEYWELL.

Honeywell should change its name to Honeywell, #%[email protected] Like Honeywell, Inc., but with more attitude.

  17. Secret clearance... <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/amazed.gif"></A>

  18. Im sure the DoD and Raytheon would just LOVE the fact you are posting all this on the internet...

  19. "I work in a cube"?

  20. yeah, i just gave away all sorts of proprietary/classified shit...

    stfu.

  21. dime-a-dozen. It's the above top secret clearances I crave.

But not really. Too much gov't scrutiny.

  22. Will do!

  23. is the global hawk in service yet?

  24. it's been used in service, but still in development.

  25. and a Boeing facility, and The Aerospace Corporation (one of my favorite corporate names ever), and probably lots more I am forgetting.
