I once met a guy who owns the only Mustang Boss I've seen in my town, he owns a beige with black stripes one, he was having the car engine checked by a mechanic and I took my car to the same place, when his car was done he asked me if I wanted to hear the engine, so he turnedit on and man... this car is terrific, I still dream about being able to own one ... someday<!-- Signature -->

  2. I WANT ONE SO SO SO SO VERY BADLY

  3. METOMETOMETOMETO!!!!!!!!!!

  4. this is my secong favourite stang behind the new Cobra R....these Boss 429's are the best muscle car in my opinion

  5. a great car indeed but no match for 427 ss or a 426hemi

  6. best mustang, could beat any other mustang ford put out, maybe not the best muscle cars, but it was a great one

  7. too 300zx yes this is a sick ass car but it would be beaten by the Cobra R (but that's it) ....And te fastest cars from this are the L88 454 Vette with 460hp......The shelby stangs.....the hemi's...the 427 Cobra.....and of course the best not really in the catagory with these others THE FORD GT40

  8. I'm definitely not a ford fan but this car is sweet . . . . this and the 68 shelby GT 500KR, only decent Fords ever made . . . . others are all Fuked Over Rebuilt Dodges

  9. true past supercar...
this car is a total classic...
it ran with the old camaro SS's/
    T-Birds/
    Chevelle SS's/ etc...

back in the day if a teen owned this... he had woman in each seat...

    trueley a beautiful car...

  10. Nice car but no match for my killer Z11 Pace SS/RS with a LS6 454 pumping out 450 hp and 500lbs. CHEVYS RULE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  11. Very Nice Camaro !! Must be a joy to ride !

  12. if i wanted to be the bad boy of the block i would have to have this 'stang. but if i had the choice i would go with the BOSS 302<!-- Signature -->

  13. If you guys think this mustang is fast youre wrong. The 428 Cobra Jet would blow a Boss 429 away simply because the BOSS was not tuned for the street it was for NASCAR. Chevys and Dodges are not the fastest cars in the world like thes people are saying. The fastest cars of the 60s and 70s had ford engines in them. They think because their cars had 450 hp it was the fastest car in the world but they didnt realize that their car weighed almost 5000 lbs or something like that. The Fairlane Thunderbolt was the fastest car of the time it ran an 11.6 at 124 mph, thats the same as the McLaren F1. The car was a street car that you could take to the drags. You cant go bragging that your car is the fastest because there is always a car out there that can beat yours.

  14. I love this car i`ve been lightly studying them and they are awesome. They are some of the best fords ever built.<!-- Signature -->

  15. Instead of listing all the good things about this car, like most people do...i'm going to list all the bad things............thank you for your time.<!-- Signature -->

  16. The Boss 429 is an incredible car, but I agree with 69Mach1, the 302 has the advantage. Lighter engine means allows for better power/weight ratio. For the Chevy freak, I don't like you style to well. you say you can smoke a ford, throw me some specs if you can find them, I will find a ford to beat you. the ZL1 means nothing. 550 hp is eaten up by the multithousand pound engine. for chevy freak......don't humiliate yourself.

  17. Re: ahhh baby\overhyped

True , the Boss 429 is the epitomy of generations of Mustangs , but in my opinion , it is overrated. When drag racers switched to these engines , they were dissapointed in performance. Most of them went back to the 427 SOHC , even the 427 offered much more reliable hp.
These cars went through a unique assbly. line at Kar Kraft where they were modified for this wide engine. 500 or fewer were produced each year, but in the late '70's , these were still sitting on Showroom floors.
It must be all about rareity, and just the damn good looks of a hemi head'd engine.
I'll bet most people reading this , havn't even heard of this car. Henry Ford definetly liked his cars. Some of his many personal drivers were Cougars in the 60's. So he managed to slip a few 427 Sideoilers in the '68 Cougars and called them GT-E's.
The "only" factory equipped car to recieve a 427 in 1968 was the GT- E, and it was later replaced by the 428 C.J., because of $cost.
256 cars total, were built with the 427 and XR-7 pckg. That's Rare !, fewer than the Boss's or Cobra's .
They were not the fastest , or machoist, but truly combined "Sleeper" Muscle with luxury, like no other "factory" assembled car.
If you wanted a fast car , you bought the T-Bolt, or the 7.0 litre Cobra or for a few bucks more a GT 40 .

  18. Very nice Cougar. Is it yours ??<!-- Signature -->

  19. first.. this car rules. second, even tho it doesnt really pertain to mustangs, i was wondrin if a 69 el camino could be classified as a muscle car... they look alot like a malibu from the came time, the exact front end, but they have the awesome truck back! go el caminos!

  20. ahhh baby

You can't get more mustang than this, too bad they didn't make more of them

  22. yeah, most probably the nicest mustang to date.<!-- Signature -->

  23. If i absolutely had to get a mustang, this would be my 100% choice

  24. Points to take

cheers to the guy who addressed the difference between NASCAR and the 1/4, this was a semi-hemi designed engine. This car never even ran at NASCAR; its a homologation for the torinos.

    869 built in 1969--- 477 survive

    500 built in 1970--- ~250 Survive

BTW, this car was grossely underrated in horsepower for insurance reasons.

To all you chevy peeps responding so far in this thread: why do you have this attitude about chevys? I mean i expect you to enjoy your cars, but putting everything down that aint chevy gives the brand a huge shit stain on its forehead. Everytime I see a chevy owner I can just imagine him talking up his shit as if the world was ignorant...

L88 crate was good and all, but the 427 SOHC would EAT any engine you could throw at it back in the 60's, any engine from any manufacturer. It's not an accident that they used them right out of the crate for the top-fuel class throughout the 60's until they were BANNED from racing.

Ive seen 9 second boss 429's and a 8 second boss nine with a cammer in it... driving down the road waiting...

Most mustangs wernt "great," thats true. But there is a reason these cars start at 50K US and go up to over 100K<!-- Signature -->

actually the L-88 had more than 550 hp but were advertised as less for insureance reasons. and it will blow any of the cars you listed.
