ALL AMERICANS ARE SOMETIMES.....ARSEOLES THAT HAVE THEIR HEADS SO FAR UP THEIR OWN ARESES THAT.......SUMONE CARRY ON THE CHAIN!
Hahaha. Show me where a stock Skyline has wupped the Viper's ass at Nurburgring. Now, read this before replying: http://www.skylinegtr.co.uk/articles/1997/october1997.htm "You retard"? LOL. I gotta film for ya! "Dumb & Dumber" (That's you & your buddy yankersarecankers.)
you say the 962 can beat any car? here's a comparison. the 962 has a twin turbo 6-cylinder the 800 has a twin turbo 10-cylinder 962 costs $853,000 800 costs $165,000 962 0-60:2.6 800 0-60:2.4 the viper 800 also does this: 0-100 mph: 5.5 sec Quarter Mile: 9.99 sec @ 138.95 mph Skidpad: 1.06g Top Speed: 230 mph Braking, 60-0 mph: 110 ft Slalom Speed: 75.1 mph i wasn't able to find that many performance statistics about the 962, so if anyone can find some, and the 962 happens to beat the viper 800, please post them.
also, if anyone's going to reply by saying the 962 is better because it has a 6-cylinderTT and can perform with the viper 800 which has a V-10TT, keep in mind that the 962 is able to do so, because it weighs about 1000lbs. less than a viper 800.
i believe the 962 does 1/4 mile in 9.2 seconds and 250 mph. dunno about slalom speeds and stuff, but c'mon, it is a lemans road car. i know i have no proof, but im pretty sure the 962 would be better round a track, and i think it might even beat the dodge in a drag-off. besides, ask anyone other than an american if they want a hyper viper or a porsche lemans road car. they'd pick the 962, not because the viper is worse but because they're in different classes. i should never have brought it up. has any american company built a car in the same ilk as the 962 ps. what happened to yankersarecankers? and whats all this stuff about part 1+2 of this forum?
i read the article. what's your point? the skyline has lapped in under eight minutes, and nothing else has (apart from a 911 GT2, and, i'm surprised to say, a jag XJ220). besides, the only yank there was a vette, which did crappy. and, that was the R33 skyline. also, the viper in stock format would probably not go faster, as most people "in the know" know. PS. did u vote for George "Dubya" Bush? just wondered
ive got it. we'll settle this debate once and for all. i propose a race around the world. the queen herself will drop the checkered flag in leicester square. i hope i've made my point. this argument is getting stupid. can't you just accept the skyline is a good car, and that the 962 is a good car? and, the 962 is a GT1 road car. a viper is NOT going to beat it. the dauer even beats it in the 1/4 mile.
Quote from R34 ever: "i read the article. what's your point?" LOL, if you have to ask, you obviously didn't read it. Maybe I should rephrase my statement up there: Read it CAREFULLY. Otherwise, continue below. "the skyline has lapped in under eight minutes" A pre-production, test mule Skyline (with tweaked suspension and boost) set up for that track for test driver Dirk Schoysmann has allegedly lapped in 7:59, although the official timetable for production cars at Nurburgring does not recognize that time. Why not? Because you can't really even buy a pre-production test mule set up to Dirk Schoysmann's preference, with tweaked suspension and boost pressures. That's the nature of PRE-PRODUCTION cars. Word has it that the car was running a modified airbox, and there's no confirmation as to what tires it ran with, and whether it was catted or not. "and nothing else has (apart from a 911 GT2, and, i'm surprised to say, a jag XJ220)." NEH! Wrong answer. Here's a list of cars that have lapped in under 8 minutes: Caterham R500 Porsche 996 Turbo Lamborghini Murcielago Pagani Zonda C12S "besides, the only yank there was a vette, which did crappy." Crappy? Let's saddle the other cars with 4-speed automatic transmissions and run-flat tires and see how they do. For such a heavy car, it did rather well. But don't take my word for it. Take TopGear's: "But we reckon the 'Vette acquitted itself very well, especially for an auto. When the optional six-speed manual arrives it'll be up there with the best of 'em. As they're proud to say at Chevrolet: 'The Legend Lives'." Besides, the automatic Corvette outlapped the Porsche, a car which (like the Skyline) has received much technical development at that very track. And it's only 8 seconds slower than that Skyline. "and, that was the R33 skyline." Driven by a Skyline specialist, who even races them in the 24 Hours of Nurburgring races. "also, the viper in stock format would probably not go faster, as most people "in the know" know." Who are these people in the know? A pussy, castrated UK-spec Viper (without even ABS!) lapped in 8:10. That's damn near a half-minute clear of the Skyline's lap there. And that Viper wasn't even driven by a Viper specialist, no less. Imagine what a full US-spec version with current ABS setup would do there.
"has any american company built a car in the same ilk as the 962" More importantly has any american company felt the desire to? The MkIV GT40's which ruled the roost at Le Mans in the '60s is pretty close. As is the Saleen S7, which is a far better road car than the 962. "ps. what happened to yankersarecankers?" His posts were deleted. They were utter garbage that did not contribute to this discussion. "i hope i've made my point." You have a point? "this argument is getting stupid." Don't tell me you haven't contributed to its stupidity. "can't you just accept the skyline is a good car, and that the 962 is a good car?" I've never said otherwise. You, however, have said otherwise about the 800TT, and that is what I'm addressing. "and, the 962 is a GT1 road car. a viper is NOT going to beat it." And just because the Viper doesn't beat it, does that make it a BAD car? Tell me, does the Viper suck because it's American, or does it suck because it can't beat a GT1 race car converted to road use? "the dauer even beats it in the 1/4 mile." Do you have this test somewhere? I've already posted the 800TT test above. Thanks.
This is funny... funny indeed. You are all sitting around here bickering over 10ths neigh 100ths of seconds as if anyone really cares... here's a thought, until one of you can afford a McLaren, SLR, Veyron... or even a STOCK Viper, shut up... why can't you folks just appreciate all these damned things for what they are -- Fast damned cars that cost too much money and help ugly rich guys get laid? Get over yourselves... all of you... I'll let you know how the Viper really performs when mine is delivered next month...
