ELISES NEED A BALLS (TURBO) and they would rock
man i love seeing these little elises around they look so good but man my pulsar has more power and it hardly goes. i know it is a light car but farrout cant lotus give the elises some power atleast 115kw thats all im asking. (or they could just put the Esprit engine in )
dude, do you really think you could fit a V8 TT into a damn 1667lb car? not a chance, jesus their alot smaller then the new mini! this car is like a motorcycle, duznt need much power cuz of the weight.
the US version is gonna have about 180-190 hp, and DAMN! their gonna be fast!
I bet if you drove one, you wouldn't be asking for more power. And with a v8, it would lose it's handling advantage. Car makers that have proven themselves realy do know more than some joe on the net.
Turbo Elise, huh? Already exists. Lotus GT1. Look it up. Very nice. Has Esprit V8 engine.

Yeah I saw it. But this car would be better with a Turbo. I mean, don't totally blow it with NOS and all that shit. Just a little Turbo. I would buy it.
Turbo the Elise............the standard Elise doesn't need improving on......if u drove it then you'd understand, but like most people, you are just reading stats off a site without actually driving one......if u say u can drive then get down to the nearest track day and test one..........the Elise is the most popular car at any track day so take you pick.
Those who want a turbo try Turbo Technics.........all reviews say it doesn't spoil the Elise and has a massive power hike.
Here's the link:
Scroll down to the bottom and see the performance figures........this may give a little indication of the US spec Elise' performance....but remember these don't have the stupid safety features so will be lighter

last i checked safety features weren't stupid i for one would like to live to say how fast i was going when i (accidentilly) hit the wall at the track but still acceleration on the us versions will be similar top speed will be improved but due to the extra weight it will handle slightly worse than the euro versionall in all they should be virtually equal on the track just better than the other on different parts of the track.
safety features?.........no-one's really needed them in the Elise over here..........they're the most popular car on the track.
Bukem(correct me if I'm wrong) said that only recently had there been the first death in a Elise when a teenager took his Dad's Elise and crashed it.
Many more don't have any safety features and have had no problems.
But again........when's the Elise gonna be an everyday car?
I love small cars and this is no exception but i wish it had about 15 more hp.
There's a Sport 135 version with exactly 15hp more - so there you go...
The fatality stat 'was' correct until recently - unfortunately, someone was killed recently in an Elise - apparently in a head on - the seatbelt mounting sheared away and he was thrown out. Terrible tragedy.
BTW - the Elise has some very good safety features, a super stiff chassis, high side protection (relative to occupants) an extraordinary strong safety tub, front crush structure without big engine to squash legs. Its light weight combined with the strength means that impacts are deflected rather than absorbed - a much better way to dissipate crash energy and safer for occupants.
What the Elise doesn't have is all the gadgets which 'reassure' people and make them feel invincible - ABS, traction control, power everything and airbags. Instead it offers the nimblest handling available at the price (and at 3-4 times the price) and as any track day warrior will know only too well - the best protection from accidents is anticipation, not reaction.
Great, now they just need to hurry and bring it to the U.S.
why only 120hp? i mean a f###ing civic gets 120hp out of a 1.8 liter and they are pieces of shit. u would excpect a lotus to do better than that!!!!
Man you don't know what an Elise is able to do.
i know it would be able to do a lot more if they got more power out of that engine
a supercharger would be better in my opinion, for a low liter engine.
i woudl like to see the elise versions with the Integra type R engine conversion on this site. to me these versions are the best elises. Though i have never driven one and probably never will have th chance, i think the power increase and increase rev range would make it all the better. the best part is that it doesnt throw off the balance of the car or add weight.
well i agree with this, the elise does need a turbo 'cause damn my delsol racer will whip it ass like a [email protected]#ch on a sunday night so far the best ive ran is an 11.12 with steet tires and a 10.84 with slicks ive got the best parts in the car including a massive HKS T51R turbo which is rated [email protected] thats all i gotta say about that
well if you all are wondering why a 10.9 with a 750hp rated turbo its because im running the lower boost which makes about 550hp

LoL u dont need v8 in this car....all u need is a 2.0l 4 cyl _200_hp turbo engine and it would be a rocket
