    The point of discussion is that this car is overhyped and it's a good thing that they're ending production. It caused too much trouble and speculation, nevermind the controversy.

    but the viper is still here and still being made.

GUIBO, I LOVE U MAN. 550 wolves IS AN IDIOT. i myself have not driven any vipers, but have read enough road tests and articles to submit an opinion. in EVERY road test i have read, the viper experienced UNDERSTEER. a little flick of the ankle and the back end would swing around providing jsut the right amount of drift to speed the EXPERIENCED driver through the turn. 550 wolves, stop ur BS. even if u did drive it (which i know u didn't), the Viper wasn't made for an amateur like u. they are stricly road racers, made with everything necessary to do just that. that is why the gen 1's didn't even have real windows, less weight, STRICTLY FOR PERFORMANCE. but retards like 550 criticising the viper all the time just made it a necessity. simply put, if u can't handle the monsterous tourque that EVERY PERFORMANCE DRIVER WANTS (the same tourque 550 can't handle), don't drive one.

  14. the Dodge Viper has the closest thing to a 50/50 weight distribution as u can get without being exactly 50/50...it is true that TVR tends to "mess around" with their cars before sending them to mag tests....and when the mg actually gets a true stock Cerbie its SLOWER than its factory rated speeds....the Viper runs an 11.77 1/4 mile @120mph....3.8 seconds 0-60....pulls a g on the skidpad....and over 70mph in the slalom tops out over 190mph and u call this car overhyped?? PLEASE! and u guys never remember that a TVR has never been put up against a US SPEC VIPER!! only the castrated Euro Spec Viper so of course the guys doing the tests will not like the Viper its not the "real" Viper...in the 2000 GTS forum the "junk" post....i posted a list of cars the Viper rapes and their base prices...check it out...u will be amazed<!-- Signature -->

  25. It's over hyped because it's a cool car. Most of the time when people bash it, it's because they can't afford one or are only using bad points that they heard someone else use on the site. Such as the "huge ass 8 liter V10" or the bad handling or the bad looks. My question is what if the Viper was produced in Europe? Would Euro-Car lovers still think of it as trash or would they over hype it the way that this thread says Americans have?
