But NOT BY MUCH. What do you expect for a car that's been around practically unchanged for the last 12 years, whereas the Z06 is only 2 years old? If Chevy can't do better performance-wise than a 12 year-old sports car, then the Vette has nothing else to offer. The interior isn't all that great (my personal opinion-Vette fans actually like it a lot) and the fit and finish is a bit disappointing for a car of $50,000 MSRP (FACT, not opinion..I can't believe the strong glue-like smells of the cabin and overflowed glue all over the weatherstripping, and tolerances are okay but nowhere near the NSX's, because the Vettes aren't hand-crafted). If Chevy didn't suceed it will be all of us Americans to shame, because that's what the Vette represent, the American pride, right? But arent you glad Chevy didn't fail? <IMG SRC="http://www.supercars.net/servlets/cMsg/html/emoticons/smile.gif"> Oh, and don't forget that the NSX IS THE BEST handling ROAD CAR OUT ON THE ROAD under $100,000 back in 1991 to 1997, and the C-4's handling specs (and probably straight-line and DEFINITELY braking specs too) aren't anywhere near what a 1991 NSX can do. So be glad that there are competitions like HONDA and CRYSLER (with their Vipers) around to get Chevy's head out of their asses and finally do something to improve the Vette. I hope that the Z06 gets Honda all fired-up right now so that they can come up with a better performing 2004-5 NSX to reclaim their best-performing car under $100,000 title (and their reputation) in the performance dept. As far as the Porsches goes, the non-turbo 911 of the 90's CAN't even touch the NSX. see this: http://nsx.vtec.net/nsx_s_videos.html and click on NSX vs. 911. I really respect Porsches a lot in terms of performance, hand-crafted quality, extremely good fit and finish, and the badge itself. BUT AS HARD AS I TRY, I CAN'T come to respect the styling of their 911 lines. they are just plain UGLY! Like beetles on wheels! YUCK! Germans aren't exactly creative with their styling. Even Mercedes and BMW's are guilty of this. I can't even tell apart the M series, 3 series, 5 series, whatever. No offense to BMW and Benz fans here, with all due respect. But that's how I feel. The bottom line is that if I want to spend that kind of $$ on a car, I gotta have one that is a real turn-on to look at and not just drive a hugh performance car that resembles a bug.
