    How many times to I have to spell it out for you? In most (non-diesel) engines high toque will always = high horse power. Weight is also a major factor and I'm sure your Semi Truck weighs a lot more than a car

    When you dyno a car, it does NOT measure horse power. Only torque and PRMs. Torque is the amount of force turning your wheels, not horse power. All horse power is, is the amount of work your engine is doing. More torque means your engine is doing more work. Higher RPMs also means your engine is doing more work. The unit of measure for (the work your engine is doing) in the United States is horse power which is (Torque x RPM) divided by 5252.

    So when it gets right down to it, torque is REALLY what's making your car accelerate. That's why your Semi Truck has so much torque. You need gobs of toque to move something so big and heavy.

  4. Absolutely! Weight is a VERY big factor. Gearing is another factor. Even horse power is a factor. But consider this....

    When using a larger displacement engine the gain in torque and horse power more than makes up for the gain in weight.

    Horse power is actually a factor because horse power helps "carry" the speed, although it's not as big of a factor as torque. And don't forget, having a lot of torque will almost always give you a lot of horse power. <!-- Signature -->

    Honduhs are not good cause they are not fast. Honduh only has v4 and my stang has a v8 and its bored with a supercharged NOS with blackouts not dumm white out civics.
    I also have 900hp on my stang and honduhs have 100hp and are slow. my stang will win all of races with honduh. my stang is grey with blackouts baby and looks tight. it has a v8 inline bored supercharged NOS system with flowmasters not some big tin exhaust tips. stikers dont make your car faster only reel machine work will. and my wing is not a big dumm wing its a carbon fiber one that will keep my car from flying because i go to fast. I live in kent ohio and will beat anyone here. i beat all civics and casue my sweet stang rox. and civics are slow. also, when i put on my turbo i will get 2000hp. it will be sweet. i will beat all of the stock civics out there. they are not fast.

    Usually when you add modifications that add HP the torque is increased, but yes it does indeed depend on what modification is made. Some headers are made to increase high RPM HP but that sometimes reduces low RPM torque, some are meant to increase low RPM HP and Torque, but it is possible that it will reduce the upper RPM HP, which you choose is dependant on where you want your power.... lots of people that race could care less about speed above 120 MPH because on the roadcourse they may never get that high anyways. If you don't care about high speeds and acceleration is more important then you want different gearing and HP and Torque curves than if high speeds are important. Different programmers for my particular car have different settings for each of these cases, and headers can also make a big difference (long tubes vs shorties)... it all depends on what you are after. I honestly don't care to go over 130 again, i like my acceleration, 145 MPH on a long stretch was just not a rush like getting to 100 in an extremely short time IMO.<!-- Signature -->

This site was created to showcase and celebrate good cars. If you can't appreciate the cars on this site for what they are, not how they compare to other cars, then leave. There are people out there that would like to enjoy all forms of automobiles and would like to use these forums to share their enthusiasm, not their hatred for those who are different.   12. I know stangs suck anyhow... Im getting sick of listening to all the domestic fans out there, and just wanted to act like one.
    Sorry if I pissed any of you off out there.
    I myself would buy an Integra Type R in a heartbeat!!!
    Actually, I do have a 95 Civic Ex, and swapped out with a GSR motor. Had the throttle body bored out a bit, port matched it with the intake manifold/ polished it as well(makes a big difference in high revs). Finally got a Greddy Turbo kit installed, mated it with a Tanaube exhaust, racing medallion one. Saving up for a few more parts ie.. fuel rail, fuel pressure riser (very important!!!) and possibly an MSD Ignition box. Need to work on the suspension, never installed a camber kit, and now my tires are messed up, not to mention my shafts are leaking. This is what happens when you lower the car and not take anything else into consideration..oh yeah, and learning how to powershift..dont laugh...
    I originally was going to order a spoon engine, but decided out of it... mainly cause the GSR engine was cheaper, and I could afford more mods afterwards. At this point I have not Dyno'd it, probably wont until after this winter. My goal is to range anywhere from 240-270hp.

    That was my point.
    I started the post because Ive been reading too many ignorant things on these forums from both sides.
    I just got sick of it one day and decided to make up the whole "Stang" thing.
    I truly respect anyone that can make their car go faster. I too, dont care if its a Gremlin or a TransAm, or a Mustang. Ive owned and built up both Imports and Domestics. Each car has its own strengths and weaknesses. But, in the end, its the Tuner that utilizes his/her understanding and skill to modify an engine to produce more power.
    Please dont take my original post literally. I was just being sarcastic. I think sometimes we all get a little carried away and take this a bit too seriously. Ive spent over 5 years reading the same bullsh!t from everybody. Domestic fans say that Jap. cars suck and are underpowered..Import fans say that Domestics suck and are too big heavy and the handling is bad... blah blah blah..
    I just wish we could all start talking about how to make our cars faster, and begin respecting eachothers auto's. There are way too many assholes out on the streets. Some of them have too much power in their car and too much anger in their head..<!-- Signature -->

    What is it about being at the top? Someone always has to try and bring you down. Talk all you want, the FACTS speak for themselves. They are a motorsports giant with, in my opinion, the best bang for your buck street cars in any class. Lets not forget the excellent build quality, reliability, economy, and re-sale value. Does anyone else feel me?
