  1. I think 4,7sec are only for the SMGII Transmission and not for the normal!<!-- Signature -->

  2. many magazines have tested the manual at 4.7. i haven't seen any tests for the smgII.

  3. i remember that this car goes from 0-60 in 4.7 any one notice th

i read that the m3 goes to 60 in 4.7 seconds not 5.1!!!! wat a typo

  4. Actually, there have been multiple threads in this very same forum about that very same subject. And multiple explanations too. Just a word of advice, when you go to a forum and decide to post, and even before you decide to post, you should read past threads to get an idea of what's going on.<!-- Signature -->

  5. who pissed in your cherrios

  6. car and driver says 4.6.

  7. No one pissed in my Cheerios, I've merely noticed that no one reads past threads, and then asks some of the most common questions that have already been asked.

I've also begun to notice that no one reads previous posts in a thread, and then adds one to the bottom that repeats something that was already said.<!-- Signature -->

  8. i does it in 4.5

  9. Ok people its 4.8 maybe 4.7 but its in no way 4.5. Don't get me wrong I love the car but I have never seen or heard of a 4.5.

  10. u can't put it below 4.5sec, now way!!!
    it's like 4.8pushing it.
    the C32AMG does 0-100 in 4.9sec
    and with adjustment 4.3sec
read post of like Hispano-Suiza HS21-GTS.

The fastest the 333 bhp North American M3 can go is 4.7 seconds (done by road and track) and 4.6 seconds (done by car and driver). Now with 10 additional bhp, I can imagine the 343 bhp Euro spec M3 doing the 0-60 in 4.5 seconds.<IMG SRC="http://www.supercars.net/servlets/cMsg/html/emoticons/smile.gif"><!-- Signature -->

  16. Okay, I thought it could be a reason that supercars.net wrote 5.1sec and many other knew 4,7sec.<!-- Signature -->

  17. 4.8 i heard... 4.7 is possible, gotta do real good gearchanging and drop the clutch at the perfect rpm... the official number is 5.2(correct me if i am wrong).<!-- Signature -->

  18. OK guys, what's going on over there???
Why are all the European cars tested in America so much faster than in Europe?

The E36 M3 was quoted at 5.8 and 6.0 secs in pre-evo (286bhp) and 5.5 secs in Evo edition (321bhp). Why did you guys shave off a good 0.5 secs from that figure in America? And you guys didn't even have the same engine! You only had the 240bhp US-version.
And then the E46 M3 comes along. In Europe it is qouted at 5.2 secs (343bhp), and if we take in account that BMW gives us the conservative figures and are adding something like 0.3 secs so that everyone are able to see 0-60 in at least (or at most) 5.2 secs. But then again you guys are talking about 4.7 secs and below!!!
What is the thing over in US??? Have you got a lot of downhills or something??? It takes a LOT to make a car to go from 5.2 secs to 4.5 secs. I am talking about lower weight, more power, upgraded suspension etc. I seriously doubt that the E46 M3 can give the, for example, Porsche 911 GT3 a run for the money. I love BMW's more than any other car, but hey, let's get things right!
Oh, and another thing. Is it possible to get a SERIOUS answer to why American car magazines get totally different ratings from the European magazines?
And ONE more thing... Why do the US-spec version of the M3 get other brakes? In Europe it's got drilled disks and in US it doesn't.

  19. ok..euro guy ur a fool who doesn't kno anything about the m3...the car with an average launch will do it in 4.8-5.0 and a spectaular launch will get u 4.6-4.8 secs...so um us american boys kno our shit....and don't bring up shit with the cross-drilled rotors..if we go to tracks we will put on a brembo big brake kit..L8r man..
