number of cylinder DOES NOT GUARANTEE MORE POWER. dammit...in fact there is probably a limit of how many cylinder that would be used in fact wouldn't be efficient. this is probably the limit in which it could be used efficiently. the reason we dont use 1 cylinder is because a lot of the power gets wasted because 1 cylider of course. this obviously depends upon displacement but generally speaking this is true. they found if you have more than 1 cylinder namely at least four it is more efficient. if the cylinders are smaller you can control the combustion so less of the energy is lost through friction and heat.

i think this car is more of a niche car..its not relly that fast for 540 hp but i think it looks pretty neat

i agree with u there. that car looks pretty sweet ass but for 16 cylinders i'd say 540 hp is a whole lot under powered. and its not worth the money of that just for looks.

Remember, it's a 365.8 cubic inch engine! That is TINY for a V16! It has to be that small to be transverse though. Man I would hate to work in that engine compartment! If I was the Sultan I would buy it, otherwise there really is no need for this car IMO.

8. Re: WHY WOULD ANYONE WASTE THEIR MONEY ON THIS

people would buy this to hear the unique sound of 16 cylinders.

9. sorry, i must point out that the creator of this thread is TOTALLY wrong.

the fact of the matter is, the Diablo is a Cizeta-Moroder wannabe.

the Cizeta-Moroder came out first.......... so go figure

10. Marcello Gandini designed the Countach, Countach S, this car, and the Diablo (in that order). The Diablo shows alot of Chrysler influence because they owned Lamborghini at the time. This is what the Diablo would've looked like if Chrysler hadn't modified it.

11. Ever heard of reading?

12. Hey, you're mistaken. This car was the original Diablo prototype. The information on this web page is wrong too. This car came out in 1988, not 1995. After being purchased by Chrysler, Lamborghini was looking for the next Countach. Three guys made a car, and presented it. Lamborghini bought the design from Claudio Zampolli, Gorgio Moroder, and Marcello Ganidni, its creators. Check out the pictures of the early '80s prototypes I left you. Isn't it curious how these look like the Cizeta Moroder? Or how this car came out two years before the Diablo? Now, this may be a Cizeta made in '95, but they first came out in 1988. Anyway, this car is faster, stronger, and more exclusive than the Diablo. Don't get me wrong, I love Diablos, but this car came first. I just thought you should know before making assumptions.

You absoloute fool! I feel so sorry for your mother and father, wasting all that time sending you to school and you still don't pay attention to ANYTHING!! That guy asked if you can read because if you actually did read the information about this car you would find out that this is a Lamborghini Diablo, but modified by another company. I.E. Its based on a Diablo!God damn it you are thick headed. Very sad to see people as dumb as you on these forums, plus, no-one cares about a tatoo on your ugly ass that says "more cushin for the pushin" You are the one wasting your time writing stupid replies to a comment on your stupid behaviour. Just don't bother.

14. To be specific...the Diablo is based on the V16T, not the other way around. This car came first.

15. I must agree with Lone Star and F50 driver. The Cizeta V16t came before the Diablo, not the other way around. You should read up on the history. Lamborghini only gets credit because the design was sold to them.

This car came out in 1988. The Diablo is a modification of this. It says so on this website, but I knew that back in the 80s.

19. LAMBOGT1, are you stupid or something? The guy that built this is famous for his work on the diablo. So when you acn grow up and read then come back and post your bullshit replys.

22. The story of the Cizeta and Diablo is this (I believe):

Lambo asked Marcello Gandini to submit a design proposal for the Diablo in 1987. He submitted the design and a prototype was built. This car looked very similar to the Cizeta, but with different tail lights, headlights and doors. Chrysler bought Lambo around this time and said they wanted lots of things changing. Lambo went about redesigning the car, and Marcello got a bit p!ssed off. In 1987 ex lambo engineer Claudio Zampolli said that the wanted to build a limited supercar with a V16.

Marcello Gandini showed him the existing Diablo proposal and Zampolli said he would use that. This was good for Gandini - because his true vision of the Countach replacement would be built, and good for Zampolli because it wasn't going to cost too much. The engine for the V16 was derived from 2 Lamborghini V8 of 3 litre joined together - though with all the work that went into it, it is really a bespoke engine.

By 1988 the white Cizeta show car was built (that is the one with the Testarossa style air intakes)
It took a further 3-4 year before the production cars were made, of which I believe between 9 and 12 were built before the company closed.

23. Re: HA HA HA LOL V16 AND ONLY 4

This car is plain awesome! It is fast, good looking and very exclusive. The V16T is also totally unique. Verdict : This would be one of the coolest supercars to own if you are already bored with your Diablo. I believe Marmon was another early car manufacturer who produced a V16.

24. Re: HA HA HA LOL V16 AND ONLY 4

This car is a legend,
The real looks of the Diablo,
Detroit trashed this one and made the Diablo....
And what an idiot!

25. It looks so much like a Lamborghini Diablo

Did they copy it or something?
