  1. Of course it can't beat the Sledgehammer... That's because the Sledgehammer is a CUSTOM Vette with all sorts of power- and performance-enhancing stuff packed into it by Callaway. This, my friend, is a STOCK car that's designed for luxury more than speed. It's not even in the same class as the Slegehammer. What you're doing is kinda like comparing the SL55 to an Acura CL. Totally different cars.<!-- Signature -->

Sure. The topic of this forum is also in the same situation. "Lookout Corvette, the king is coming." Lookout all Corvettes? I surely consider the Sledgehammer a Corvette. Infiniti cannot compete with Corvette because of cars like Z06 and the Sledge. Is this a fair comparison? Nope. Is my comparison fair? In this certain forum, of course, given the topic.

  4. i have heard the skyline is comming to the us in 2004 or 2005 but in early 2004 the new corvettes are coming out (the next generation c6) the vette doesn't have much to worry about from the lead weight of the skyline 3900 lbs haha.

In japan this car is called a nissan skyline 350gt. And the corvette will get dogged by this car when it comes over to us. wait till we get the turbo's, look at the lancer they sent it over to make a name then a year later we get the evo 7. The same thing. Even if it takes a while aftermarket is huge for this car.
CORVETTES SUCK no AMERICAN CARS SUCK

  6. look people the japanese companyes are bringing all these 280hp cars, over to north america, and what is ford doing desinging a 350hp car with the waight of focus. now do you think that gm is going to sit there while all this is happening(they better not), as i hate to admit it but the next gen corvete porbably will have around 500hp and tourque. anyway this is about this car so why are we jumping 3 years ahead for those cars.
as long as the gt40 beats the corvete i am happy.

  7. woah woah woah woah woah, gt40 and corvette, umm, shit i dunno what to say, both #$%#ing good cars, not bad comparison, umm what u ppl think.

Um i think we'll be comparing the gt40 to the z06, RIGHT PPL?

    Peace!!

u man ure a idiot and dont kno crap bout cars? okie dokie

  9. Well I for one think the car looks good and will be a nice little family car. As for a sports car LOL Nissan does not build sports cars since they were called Datsun! It is sad really the look is nice but I really doubt the overall preformance will be up there. Most likely M5 competiton at best when upgraded.

  10. GT40 vs Corvette. I have got to see that.<!-- Signature -->

  11. The Nissan 350Z and the Infiniti g35 sport coupe are no threat to the Corvette. Perhaps in terms of handling dynamics but not in speed. That will change when the Nissan Skyline GTR comes to the US in 2005, and it's coming. It will have a Twin Turbo, all wheel driver version of the world famous 3.5 liter VQ engine. Expect 0-60 numbers below 5 seconds. Performance should be very similar to the 2002 Porche 911 turbo. Perhaps even closer to the GT2.

  12. First off, I am a HUGE fan of both the Corvette and Skyline. I can't wait to see these two kings battle it out with one another (once the GTR, R35, 350 GT-8, or whatever they will call it - comes to the USA). Most of us know that currently, the fastest stock Corvette Z06 is a car good for very low 4's (4-4.2 I see in a few different places) 0-60 runs, and (for those that may or may not know) the fastest Skyline R34 GTR hits 60 in about 4.5 +\- .01 second. Obviously the Corvette is faster stock, but when it comes to aftermarket tuning, the Skyline is obviously (or argueably, depending on who you ask) is superior. That being said, without including next generation Corvettes (just the current Z06), I have to agree that the next SKyline GTR will be a formidable foe for the Z06. It may even be faster than the mighty Z06. If they decide to go with the rumored V8 (with or without turbo), and the weight is kept as low or lower than the current Skyline R34, I think the Z06 will be looking at the rear bumper of these beasts. Atleast for a short while.<!-- Signature -->

  13. I think corvette is on everyones favorite list :( I thought i was the only one <!-- Signature -->

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA the GT-R in Japan already could run with but not quite beat a Z06 but hp for hp The Nismo 400R could stomp the HOLY LIVING POO out of anything over here. And you have to remember Japan has hp limits. The us doesn't so watchout vette this "little" I-6 TWO door is gonna blow your ass off the road<!-- Signature -->

  15. Hey oliap , nice signature hehe <IMG SRC="http://www.supercars.net/servlets/cMsg/html/emoticons/smile.gif">

  16. Ok First Off, Heres What The New Vettes Suppose To Look Like

  17. Second Off, The New Gtr Will Look Probably Like My Avatar Or They Will Probably Produce The Nissan Gtr Concept That Is Somewhere On This Page

  18. Okay, first off, this car will not touch the vette. Next doesn't anyone see the odd resemblence from this and the 350z. Granted, i haven't seen the new GTR yet.. I don't really know the point in spending an extra 3-5 grand (depending on location of purchase) for this car. I'd much rather have the Z... for the background, the legend, and the overall detail of it. Even if the GT-R looks like this, has this body style, It's not like i care, i live in USA and we won't get it. Atleast not for a while.

  19. the skyline wont touch the corvette keep that Jap crap out of our country

  20. How is the skyline superior for modification? How many 490 rwhp normally aspirated skylines are out there that idle at the same speed as stock? How many SKylines have continously variable suspension firmness? The corvette has so much more potential. The LS1/LS6 is the best engine ever made. As for new Skylines that can take a Z06. They will either cost more, or they just won't be as fast.

  21. your comments hold true if drag racing was the only racing in existence.

  22. You are completely right, the C5-R actually has no steering wheel because it doen't need to turn because it only drag races, and yet its 427 LS1 was reliable and powerful enough to win overall in GTS. Thats pretty good for a drag racer that has to run on a track with turns. Obviously the Corvette has exceptional handling.

  23. The next skyline which will be known as the r35 in North America will most likely take a corvette of the line and in the turns. Sorry america, Japan is coming!!

  24. "The next skyline which will be known as the r35 in North America will most likely take a corvette of the line and in the turns. Sorry america, Japan is coming!! "

-I saw an interview with a gentleman on tv that had a Japanese Skyline (lovely car) that he brought to america. It cost him around $90,000 (US dollars) to bring it over. Thats enough money to be running 427LS6 in the vette (which is naturally aspirated). While a skyline is a beautiful car (best japanese car) it is not and will not ever be a vette. So watch out Japan, America is still here.

  25. Dont think so, I heard more rumours that the R35 that's suppose to hit America in 2004 is gonna be a 400hp+ car for under 60g's, if that's truly what's gonna happen, then you should really think that the Corvette should start shaking not only in terms in price and power but in terms of popularity, the popularity of the imports and teens and so on tunning them are way over American cars
