free fall, acceleration = g
assuming initial v = 0
d = 1/2 at^2 = quarter mile =~ 402m
so, ET =~ 9s @ ~200mph
But that's without air resistance.
In reality it will hit terminal velocity at maybe 100mph.
So actual ET may be ~ 11s @ 100mph

2) Bugatti 16/4 Veyron on the strip:
0-300kmh in less than 14 seconds
Likely a 9 or 10 second car.

Sorry, the Bugatti still wins.
