1. Not Bad, for a Ford

This is pretty good considering where it came from. I'd like to see them in the showrooms, though. The S-Type R is a good sign; maybe I'll get my wish.

2. Ford ain't got NUTHIN' to do with this thing! This is ALL JAGUAR POWER! All Ford can say is that Jaguar is a subsidiary.

Correct again! Ford doesn't own them, they just help them out because Jag engines would suck if Ford didn't give 'em a little booster-seat, if you know what I mean.

4. Ford does own Jaguar, but Ford leaves them alone. Jaguar has their engineers, staff, etc. and does its own thing with little say from Ford. Ford gives final approval I believe.

5. yes the parts used some come from a car that has won car of the year for alote of magazines in europe, it is the best car in its class and other raved reviews (it lost european car of the year by three vote). but look at it still the engine is worked, tranny different allwheel drive, and firmer structure, and different shocks, so what if they have the same bolts.
this car is all jag though nothing shared with ford, and lincoln(i don't believe). they should send it out will kill few porches.

Absolutely. I guess I should say that Ford has little say in Jaguar relative to how much Ford is in Lincoln, Mercury, etc. though. I do agree that many Ford parts are about in the X-Type, but I would expect that. To my knowledge, there is little to no Ford in the XK series.

7. It is true Ford own Jaguar, but have nothing to do with it, except give them money. Ford also own Aston Martin, but would you go calling the Vanquish a Ford, I think not. This beast right here is 100% jag.

8. Ok so Ford owns Jag but the only Ford part to do with this car is the chip that activates the immobiliser in the key. Same for all the XK- series

9. This car is all Jaguar. True Ford owns Jaguar. The only parts that are from Ford in the X-Type are only electrical wires and relays and stuff. The engine transmition and chassis and all that are Jaguar.

10. Yeah, Im tired of hearing people say "Jaguar is going under ever since Ford took control of them". Even if they were, Ford doesn't have a hell of a lot to do with them anyways.

11. Ford is smart enough to know not to let Jaguar go under.

12. right.... and that's why money is invested in...
though the big problem with Jaguar development is time.
Jaguar is doing it at a behind schedule pace
however, the future is super bright.

13. This thing is a COMPLETE JAGUAR.... Ford and Jaguar are just united but each one keeps on making its own models, except for the Ford Taurus and The Jaguar Type X... or Type S, I dont remember well. It would be like saying on a Ferrari F50 Forum: NOT BAD FOR A FIAT....

FIAT OWNS FERRARI BUT THAT DOESNT MEAN THAT THE MODENA IS A FIAT...

Also nissan and renault and many other companies

14. Re: Not Bad, for a Ford

Ford owns alot of car makes..Lincoln, Mercury, Mazda, Volvo, Jaguar, Land Rover and Aston Martin...I dont call any cars of those makes Ford..

15. It is true that most jaguars are all jaguar, all british, totally kick ass, but ford does have some parts in the jaguar lineup more than wires and plugs. The X-type body is a modified mondeo, sad to say, but true. It isnt a good car ne way. This on the other hand, is gods gift to ne man willing to pay the price, and has no BS ford parts in it.

16. Ford makes a lot of things that are bad ass. They also help Jaguar make engines with more efficient design because the Jags from the early ninetys back had serious reliablity issues. Ford basically gave Jaguar money to improve and they still watch over them for advertising and PR. The only thing that is mostly Ford in the Jag line up is the X-type. If Ford keeps up with their input in the X-type like planed then we should see a V-8 in it or a 400hp V-6 like their planing. This thing is an amaising piece of machinery and i hope they make production version with the same power output in the future.

17. You idiots! Jaguar is owned by Ford, but all that does is maybe give Jag a bit more money to mess around with. Ha!

Moooooo...

18. hell, even if Ford owns Jaguar and some ford parts are used in it, who cares? ford's a quality manufacturer anyway. that's why focuses swarm all over England, but not in our garages.
