Re: NSX vs. VIPER (quality vs. crap?)

1. I say Viper is All Looks... Viper wold give NSX dirty bumm sex

2. I would definitely choose the NSX over a Viper if I was given the choice. First of all, I say this mostly because I am biased toward Honda's. Sorry. But I think that Honda happens to make some of the best all around cars on the planet. You get Reliability, efficiency, power and handling all in together in many of their vehicles. While the Viper definitely has its own presence, and perhaps a much larger one if the two cars were parked side by side, and also has a lot of power on tap, for practicality reasons I would choose the NSX because it is a better ALL AROUND car. If I wanted to simply race a car on the weekends, I would take a Viper, but if I wanted a car that I could drive around day to day AND race it on the weekends, I would choose the NSX. I happen to know a guy who has one, a '96 I beleive, and when he takes it to the track sometimes, even the guys who have cars like Vipers and Corvettes get all oogley eyed when the NSX drives up. In conclusion to all of my mumbo jumbo, I would take the NSX.

Ah, so this is where the rumor comes from.

Yeah, I can’t wait for this new NSX. This is Honda/Acura’s flagship sports car. A showcase for its most advanced technology. At twice the price of an S2000, it should easily surpass its lil brother in every area. Plus it’s got the advantage of being some three years newer than the S2000. Considering the S2000 is ten years newer than the original 1990 NSX and has beaten that car’s hp/l by 32.5% (120.2 hp/l vs 90.7 hp/l), we can hope to bear witness to the new NSX producing 9.8% (32.5 divided by 3.3) more hp/l than the S2000. So given the extra three years worth of R&D, the new NSX will be pumping out 131.8 hp/l! Awesome!

Waitaminute…450 horses divided by 4 liters (that’s 2 S2000 engines put together) comes out to 112.5 hp/l. WTF? That’s 7.5 hp/l LESS than the S2000? What’s going on here?!

4. nothing is going on...yet. the rumor is 450. even that much is unnecessary. of course, if you want to believe the hype (which i do), 240+240 is 480hp. still, 120 hp/litre. and what the hell is wrong with 112.5 hp/litre, still not blown?

5. Nothing's "wrong" with it. Why is it less?

6. Of course the NSX will win lol ;)

7. NSX vs. VIPER (quality vs. crap?)

while leaving the theatre with my fiancee, a man pulled into a parking spot in a viper. here in america's 6th richest county, thats no big deal. anyway, she loves that car (i know, i cant set her straight), and i took her over there to it. i asked the guy about it (year, mods, etc) and he was very nice to us. she was all giddy and stuff and he said (funny as hell), "you can touch it if you want." so she did. so i kept talking to him, told him about my car, and he said that he also had a 94 NSX at home. the viper, he said, was the biggest "pain in his ass" that he had ever had. he said his NSX was perfect, and acted so, but the viper had so many problems that he was considering selling it. so...

considering the horsepower difference (Viper), and engineering difference (NSX), which would truly be the better car? yes im biased, but ON THE ROAD, what would you prefer?

and NO "US cars suck" crap here.

8. Yea, that's true. Friends of mine who drive american cars say that their cars have little problems all the times. ANd they always breakdown. ALthough the nsx is more expensive than a viper. BUt viper breaks way more, so u actually have to pay more.

9. Both are nice cars. I would choose the NSX but i guess i am biased.

10. Well you see personally I preffer the NSX because I like imports, the Viper has a track record of breaking down and I don't like footing repaire bills, and lastly I think personal opinion here that the Viper is all go no show, now who wants a car like that? probly every1 but me! personally I don't care

11. I believe that both cars are equally exotic. I see a viper or an NSX maybe once a month here in Houston. But as far as choice... The NSX would be something of more value due to it's unbelivable engineering skills put into the design. All Viper had to do was make a big enough engine bay to cram that V-10 into. The NSX engineers went all around the car's design making it a very remarkable car. Granted, the Viper costs less, produces more power, and has a larger demand, I'd still stick with the NSX for it's potential at what may be a very fast supercar. Rumor has it of incorporating two s-2000 engines, producing 450 horsepower of raw V8 power. Combine that with a lightweight chassis, and you have one very fast car.

12. the thought of two merged S2000 engines gives me chills. ooh...450 (or maybe even 480 ?) that would be so awesome. is it legal to marry a car?

13. I don't know why, but I see about maybe less than 1 or 2 Vipers a year in Richmond, Vancouver. But I do see a lot more NSXs in the area, like about 5 to 6 a month. Although Vipers are a lot cheaper than the NSX, but it seemed no one drives Vipers.

14. actually i hear vipers are very undrivable. something about the middle console infringing on the leg area. i dunno, but one of my favorite thing about hondas, is their drivability. my civic's interior is stock, but it drives absolutely beautiful. i could drive for hours sometimes, making a total connection with the car and with the road.

15. Out of a viper and NSX I would get the NSX because it has great handling but I wish they would make the car more round and not so boxy but I like like what they did to the lights.

16. I'd most certainly pick the NSX, Honda make the most reliable cars, especially like the Accords and Civics, and not to mention the Preludes. They will last long as hell if you just get regular tune ups and change the oil, I don't have much to say about a Viper, I like them for their sound and power but I like the NSX b/c it will get me from point a to point b, ya smell me! The NSX is much more comfortable, and it comes with windows!

I haven't been to Richmond for a long time, I used to go there very weekend, and I didn't see many NSXs, too. Most of them were modified Civics and Preludes. All of them were nice.

21. Bite me.My moms Monte Carlo (2000)is grrrreat!not one repair. It's been at 5200 RPM out of 6300 and ran great after. We raced a 1994 Explorer and left it in the dust! We've gotten from 0-60 in 5.8 sec.Beat that.

22. So?
It's a new car, it's not supposed to have problems.
My bro drove our E class to 200kmh, over 6000 rpm at night on the straight and beat a 330xi or somthing that time.

23. how the hell can you call the viper crap shithead

24. I personally like the NSX much better. But hey thats just me.

25. you guys are funny some of you say the viper is more expensive and then someone else says the nsx is more expensive. the someone says the viper is just better looking then someone says its just all go no show(how the #$%# do you figure? ASS!) first of all i would take the viper because for the money your paying your getting a faster nice car(nicer in my opinion, faster in fact) and my friends boss owns 5 vipers and is in the viper club of america. he has not had a problem with any of his vipers. maybe its because he has alot of money and accually takes car of them, but he runs them at oval raceways at 180 mph and they still run. one of them is pushing over 1,000 HP with a supercharger. My point is where are you gonna get an nsx with that. and if you say your not looking for speed your lying cause no one who isnt looking for speed would even consider spending that much money on a car that didnt say mercedes or BMW. the Viper isnt even fair to compare against the NSX(i like the NSX dont get me wrong but for the money i dont like it that much) the NSX should be compared to the WS6 of the camaro SS That is fair. it wouldnt even be fair to compare it to the VETTE!
