Anyways, NSXs don't need a lot of power to get them go fast, in fact, a 376hp NSX can beat a 467hp Supra no problem at all. That's becuz it's so light. A 500hp NSX can easily go to 200mph.<!-- Signature -->

But why don't they go that fast on a curcuit? Because that's the usual top-speed you can get on a curcuit with that car. The same thought was put in to the NSX, they put enough power and as less weight as possible to the car, then they get the top-speed for that car around curcuits. And what's the point by putting 1000hp in a car that could hardly use them all on a curcuit? And yes, the Viper and NSX are two totally different cars, one is for speed and one is for putting F1 technolgy on the road. Viper should compare with the Toyota Supra, they both archive 1000 hp easily and both are huge FRs.<!-- Signature -->

the NSX should be compared to a WS6?...MUAHHAHAHAHAHAHA...riiight. okay, and let me make a point. a viper with a supercharger can get 1000hp. (what a conveniently even number). while Hennessey, with TWO TURBOS, can only get 800 hp. hmm...think about it
If anyone has a problem with this car is an idiot. I love these cars and me and my cousin danny are going to buy one for my formal. : ) and please reply one of you guys from supercars.net aren't any of you's gay???? Because i want a lover bye _ (!) In Japan, 290hp was the limit, all stock cars made from Japan have to be under 290hp. NSX have a 3.2L V6 and S2000 have a 2L inline 4. But NSX is limited to 290hp while the S2000 could be free of that limit because it only have 250hp stock.<!-- Signature -->
I wouln not call the Viper crap, I am not a Dodge fan but the Viper is nice to look at and the motor sounds like a monster. If the NSX had 450hp it could have a few problems too, and I'm not saying it would. At the gym one guy said he had to replace the tires on his NSX every six months because of the way the suspension was designed to handle. I guess if you can afford 80k for a car a couple more thousand a year for tires won't break you. I would take a z06 over both for less money, but I like all three.

for all you guys wondering about hp per liter and all that jazz, heres the thing. In NA situations of course, its easier to make a smaller engine(ie. the 4 banger in the s2000) produce more hp per liter, or at least one with smaller cylinders(like lambo and ferrari v12s). The bigger the cylinders get the harder it is to keep the hp per liter ratio the same, because the combustion is under less control. And most smaller engines can handle a higher rpm(less moving parts = less frictional power losses) thats another reason why its harder to make bigger engines have more hp per liter. Now don't get me wrong here im not saying that bigger engines can't make good hp per liter - im just saying that it becomes more of an engineering problem the bigger the engine gets. So i wouldn't be surprised to the the new NSX with a hp per liter ratio lower than that of the s2000.
right, i agree, but still i would much rather have my large displacement engine made by honda. their engineering has proven to be very effective and reliable, as well as innovative and ahead of its day.<!-- Signature -->

Someone answers my question. That's also the same reason a small 4-stroke straight-4 in the CBR600 can produce more hp/l than the S2000 with far less $$$ and technology invested in it. The CBR motor has the advantage of physics on its side in the first place. Now, try to move the S2000 using the CBR's engine...

You can't ASSUME Acura will only need 5.7 liters to produce 450 horses. Not everything in automotive engineering operates in a totally linear fashion. Just because Car A has twice the amount of power as Car B doesn't mean it's gonna go twice as fast. Just because an S2000's engine is 1/4th the size of the engine of the Viper doesn't mean it's gonna get 4 times better gas mileage. C'mon, people. Think! Good luck getting that 427 Cobra to pass 50-state emissions and DOT crash tests.
All Hondas are the biggest picece of shit. Just hearing t he sound of their engine makes me want to take out a baseball bat and smash off the muffler. Yes the NSX is no ordinary Honda but it still is one. It only has 290hp, which is alot but should not evan be compared with the vipers 450hp engine. And all you people who say hp doesnt matter (in somecases it doesnt) look at the zero to 60 times NSX:4.6seconds Viper4.3seconds Just the sound of the viper would make you think it is better. By the way how could you say American cars suck, look what country made the unibox.

If you people had a half a brain, you would see that General Motors, and Ford, both american companies are the two biggest car makers/companies in the WORLD!!!! CHECK THIS OUT!!! Everyone everyone gather round. I am about to tell you about the sickest showing of the Supra ever. Go on morpheus and download "Getaway in stockholm 2" it kicks so much ass. It is a supra flying around the freeways and streets of Stockholm, the camera is mounted on the bumper of an Escort Cosworth, both cars tuned to around 450 hp. Check it out for the love of God. These drivers are my heroes . It is so funny to see the police cars get blown by. Tell me if you've seen it, you will be one of the lucky few... Kalypso <!-- Signature -->
You talkin' about this one?: http://syndr0me.com/movies/SupraGetaway.mpg That's old news, like 2 months now. Nice video, nevertheless.

WHAT IN THE F#CK! MAN A VIPER WOULD SMOKE AN NSX. BY THE WAY YOU TALK ABOUT THE REPAIRS,YOU CAN PRACTICALLY FIX A DOMESTIC CAR IN YOUR GARAGE IN A COUPLE OF HOURS,BUT WITH AN IMPORT YOU NEED TO WAIT FOR PARTS[LORD KNOWS THAT TAKES FOREVER]. THEN YOU HAVE TO FIND SOMEONE WHO IS EXPERIENCED IN FIXING IT. NOW I AM NOT SAYING THAT IT IS NOT A GREAT CAR BUT YOU CAN'T COMPARE IT TO A GOOD OLD AMERICAN MUSCLE CAR FACE IT THIS IS NOT A STINKING CIVIC
Sell either then buy a 1970 Hemi 'Cuda, but thats me or a Porche 911. I could not see myself driving either of these 2 cars, the Viper is a Muscle Car trying to be an exotic, while the NSX is Honda trying to be an exotic.
I think you can guess which one i would pick <IMG SRC="http://www.supercars.net/servlets/cMsg/html/emoticons/smile.gif"> <!-- Signature -->
If had it to play with whenever I wanted but not for transportation and someone else payed for it (everything including maintanence), I'd drive the Viper because honestly its faster. But if I were to buy one I'd choose the NSX. I would bet you could buy a used NSX that was just getting broke in and it would still last longer than an new Viper at the same cost. Also, the NSX doesn't drink gas as bad.<!-- Signature -->
