Re: supra vs skyline

  1. Both cars look good and great performers.

Some cars are just purely tuned for Drag Racing, while some are tuned for racing tracks, like this Blitz GTR.

American supercars are generally refered to as "Muscle Cars" for a reason, they go flat out in max HP and Torque while performing great on straight lines.

Japan Supercars are different, they are great to tune if you want a Street Race Car or for Racing in general.

Both types of cars will have their advantages.
I prefer the Japanese style and purpose, although American cars do have that "look and feel" with them that makes you want to start a car museum or something.

And remember, V8s and V10s are basically Truck engines, not only they suck a lot of petrol but are not very efficient.

Cranking out over 500HP out of a straight 6 or even a 4 is more impressive and shows great efficiency.
I just think that Japanese Engineers have better sense of efficiency.
The question is, how much power can Japanese tuners crank out of bigger engines such as V8s and V10s. Judging by the power they can muster out of a straight 6 and some 4s, it makes you wonder.

And rumours of The new GTR and the new Toyota Super cars being V8s, the wondering could stop within the next few years.

  2. 1st of all, the 4WD doesn't put on all that much more weight. It majorly increases the take off and cornering ability. The R34 Skyline held the stock record at Nurburgring at 7 minutes something for a long ass time until the new 2002 Porsche 911 GT2 came out and barely beat it. Look at that picture. A brand spankin' new Porsche is the only car that you could compare to the Skyline. And as for top speed? I have seen modified Skyline's push it up to 240mph. I'm sorry, but no Camaro could compare to a Skyline, especially a heavily modified Skyline like this. The day I see any Camaro beat an evenly powered, or underpowered, Skyline, will be the day I die my friend. And as for the Skyline vs. Supra? I Love them both, but stock, I would pick the Supra, modified I would choose the Skyline.

  3. Also think about this. This Skyline is pushing 850hp out of a 6 cylinder, a high power Camaro would need a V8 to acheive that. Just imagine you fools, if Nissan started making Skyine's with 8, 10, or even 12 cylinders, just imagine the kind of power you could push out of that!? We are talking major power here! There would definately be new record breaking speeds there. I can hardly wait.

  4. shut the #$%# up, qoutin the fast and the furious what the hell *****. just stop talkin

  5. im #$%#ing tiered of assholes that say jap-cars suck!! give me one streetlegal am-car that do 0-300kph on 13sec like the veilside skyline gtr r32 that does 13.72... and dont com with the sledgehammer vette it dosent stand a chanse in the sea!!!!

  6.

Quote from greese monkey
there are street legal cars that do 7 sec 1/4 times, theres one car in australia called joe blo, i donno how many hp it has but i kicks and street legal with tuff car laws down there 2.
now to do with jap cars.
i think that the supra is much betta than the skylines,(1)evan at stock the supra can keep up with a gtr and the gtr is 4wd,(2) when corners are concerend it proven that fr cars corner betta than 4wd cars(3),the supra looks much betta than a skline.

i know the tt l6 motors can kick but i would get a non tt and but a lexus 4.0 alloy v8 into it, then supercharge it. know that wold be different and kick arse.

    v8 street machines
only milk and juice come in 2 litres!

a stock supra would kill a skyline... the skyline would take it on 0-100 because it got 4wd and the skyline will just tip the 200kph scale and the supra tips the 260 kph scale + it looks much better

Nope not a chance, they both suck and so does all the other jap cars. Viper and camaro can easily take on any jap car.hard to beleive? no, the svs and hennessey vipers do 9 and 10 sec in the 1/4 mile and have a top speed of what? 240 mph and up.my camaro and many other camaros could also beat it. i do 7.9 in the 1/4 @ 183mph and its street legal and runs on 92 oct gas.but any way all jap cars suck.

    67 camaro blown 540bbc
    7.9@183mph 1/4
    1800HP 1950lbs/ft of torque
    will gladly race anyone!

You are really getting on my #$%#ing nerves. I am fan of both American Muscle cars and Japanese cars. You are giving a bad name to all muscle car lovers, YOU STUPID FUCKING REDNECK TRAILOR TRASH!!! First of all, if you add 1800 bhp(what you claim your Camaro has)to a
Skyline or a Supra, it will wipe the floor with your 67 Camaro, second of all, I've seen Supra's do quarter miles in 7 flat, with 900 bph (no nos). And in the real world it's not all about a straight line you #$%#ing airhead. It's called turning. YES, streets do have curves and twists and so do real race tracks. That's where the 800TT gets slaughtered by this Skyline Blitz.

finaly someone that thinks like me, you must be sckandinavian..... keep in touch!!!!!!!!

  8. watch some performace import videos
they have skylines pulling 9 second 1/4 mile
it even has a rx7 pulling near 6's

Venoms rule- www.hennesseyms.com-but I think a $1 million dollar supra would win over this $1 million dollar Skyline.

  12. Both the supra and the skyline are great cars, in all fairness these cars should not be compared. These two cars has unlimited potencial which has never been reached by any company or person. All that is left to say is don't hate these cars appriciate these cars.

  13. Do you realize that the fastest running Supra (two engines, one car) were running an RB engine, which is GT-R engine and an MR2 engine... Yes, a 4-cyl turbo Toyota MR2 engine! Never heard of Supra engine running that fast...

The Supra TT has 320 bhp and it's a stock vehicle! This is an unfair comparison. Compare this skyline to a veilside evo tuned supra or the AB-Flug supra.

  15. holy crap, sorry about that. In my above statement i said that the vielside Skyline has some 1130 bhp, i ment to say supra, and then compare it to the skyline. SORRY ABOUT THAT!
