Ford Motor Company bought Jaguar after the 1st "new style taurus' was built. The evolution into the "newer" style was evident. The car companies don't share body information only engine and performance information. The designers for each Ford owned companies are in their respective headquarters. The rears eventhough they do look alike were not planned like that. But, yes they are very similar
