The ultimate racer...Prove me wrong!
So here's the deal...
A 99 GT can be purchased for $15,999
Running: 260hp and 304 torque
So you say...that's nothing my supped up piece of a honda can burn that or my 911 carrera could eat that on the strip
in that case...one may add a procharger supercharger for 4 grand which runs this fine stang up to: 442 hp and 516 torque
I'll sum it up for those of you who are car illiterate: I pay under 20 grand and have a monster that could smoke your 911 or any piece of a crx that you throw @ it and for you porsche drivers, I have 70 grand more in my pocket
By the way we are talking about street racing, please don't bring up hairpin turns or back roads
You have a deal, my friend !!!!!!!!!!!
The ultimate racer is made by hand because it is the cheapest way to make one, tell me if you want to know how I did it.
I'd be very interested to hear about your racer...send me an email @ email@example.com
Sorry for not clarifing it, but I was refering to an everyday reliable driver.
So let's hear it all you Civic/Prelude/Integra/CR-X/Mistsu/ and Mazda drivers..
There's no replacement for American muscle!
Over 500 lb-ft of Torque ouch...I hope every one realizes t that is verp territory for under 20 Grand
Any other ideas for high horse power mods??
I'm not big on email, I don't care if everyone sees this. I bought a '69 Chevelle coupe for 1k or 1.5k (can't remember) with 350 motor & transmission. Sold the engine & transmission and bought a new stock 454 w/ 400 turbo tranny for 1k. A mech friend of mine and I took out most of the stock internals, sold them, and got new pistons, cams, headers, rocker arms, valves, crank, ect. ect. Played with the heads, redid the rear end and suspension. Because we got to use his shop it was dirt cheap to do, grand total right around $5000. Runs mid-10's with 683 lbs. of torque@6300 RPM or 819 HP.
That's awesome...I'm a little hesitant to go old school...for reliabilitiy sake...your thoughts?
Street racing. Every street Ive been on has corners. You mean drag racing.
Gotta tell you. I have a Honda Civic that pulls lower 12's. What does your mustang pull. 15,999, does it even have AC.j/k. I have an affinity for Jap cars. Nothing like the sound of 4 cylinders reving 9000 RPM. OOHH, sorry your mustang would explode.j/k. As for reliability, did you really say his hand built car was less reliable than your production mustang. With that blower and no other upgrades I wouldn't give it 50,000 miles.
It's too bad that the "Ultimate Racer" probably won't even run in about 5 years.
If all you can afford is a mustang go ahead. but for your info a camaro can be done up much easier, for cheaper, faster, and will look better. but if you really want power look to Henessy for an example. anuthing good is better mopar
im not one to agree with idiots
but i agree with maxpower this time
i say they prety much killed the
mustang. the best stangs were the shelbys
i prefer mopar but a good car is fine
Well I would of ment street car, seeing how it is on the street. BTW- no one, minus the stupid, race in traffic. We call the straight roads highways.
My hand built car has gone 20,000 miles no problems, I call it reliable because I take CARE of it unlike some people and I know what went into it.
I almost find it funny that you refer to a 4.6 Liter, 270 HP car as "American Muscle". Real American muscle is is a 427 big block roaring under the hood of a '67 Vette. If you really wanna show that American Cars still have what it takes, just look at a Saleen S7... Or take a look at what Cadillac is planning on doing with the Cien.
A Mustang is in no way a good representation of what America can do with a car.
TRY RACIN THIS!!!!!
WHY DONT YOU PUT YOUR SO CALLED MONSTER AGAINST THE 2000 CHEVY CAMARO AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS.YOUR
"MONSTER" WILL GET TORN APART. ITS GOT 785 HORSES @ THE WHEELS AND 800 HORSES CUMMIN OUT OF THE ENGINE. HEY THATS ALL IVE GOT TO SAY IF YOU WANT MORE INFO. GO TO THE 2000 CHEVY CAMARO.
Re: TRY RACIN THIS!!!!!
Ultimate Racer? A 3-series BMW has better suspension than a crap mustang. And for drag racing, boring. Go fast in a straight line, then stop. WHOOOOOO! Drag racing is for people who don't have the talent to drive a car on a course. If you think otherwise, you obv
iosly havent been on a course.
yes i can!!!! try that in the rain or in the snow or in any other weather then dry pavment you cant all that power and cant hook up that sucks sure going fast in a straight line how about in a road race it sucks it time is over.go all wheel drive. so i just proved you wrong

Just wondering but have you ever compared aftermarket parts for a mustang and a camaro. You can take an aftermarket part from the same company for both cars and I will guarantee you that the part for the mustang is cheaper. Does that mean it sucks. No, it just means that those of who keeps the mustangs alive have a little bit more money to play with on Friday night. I have a buddy who has a 97 or 98 camaro and one with a 98 formula. We are always looking at mods for our cars. These guys pay out the ass.
Re: TRY RACIN THIS!!!!!
I have a question for everyone:
Why are Chevy owners (or fans if you can't afford one or can't drive yet- since you all act like immature little idiots) always coming over to Mustangs to write shit? Every other entry in the Chevy section isn't some Mustang person hyping up their ride? It sounds like Chevy people aren't happy with their cars and have to boost up their image to everyone else. Get a life and quit bitching about what you supposedly hate. No one cares to hear your bullshit!!!
Wow, there are so many stock cars that cost less than $70 Grand more, but let's just choose one of those at random, I don't have time to list them all - On any road or the strip - EVO VI (I just picked a random model that could beat this)
For the price moron there is no faster car, come on, prove me wrong, I know you can't for two reasons:
1. No car for $22,000 or under can do the quarter mile in 13.7 seconds.
2. You're to stupid to prove anybody wrong.
this shit sux...i'm not sayin all american cars suck, but this does. 58 hp per liter. that's a joke. single over head cam, are they goin backwards with these mustangs??? only thing u have on imports is they don't produce huge 3+ litre 4600 cc engines. v8 have their place, in trucks.
Wrong....2001-2002 Silvia Spec R. Runs CONSISTENT 13.5 quarters. Six speed tranny, 2.0L Turbocharged engine, MSRP...20,300 USD.
It's okay though...you can put your head back in the sand....this car isn't offered in the U.S.
That's wrong too...Nissan President has a 4.5L V8 making 415 N/A HP....and the President isn't a truck. And neither is the Toyota Soarer.....
