I was calculating crank torque from rear wheel torque. They were rough estimates, but close...

Rustangs...how come you said that at least SS's have been known to run 12.9 ? Do you mean with slicks and gears? Cuz stock they dont run that. But I mean, if you want to do it that way, think about how much faster that Cobra will run, if comparably equipped with whatever that 12.9 SS is running. Some 4.10s and some slicks would get the Cobra into Viper territory (which runs 12 flat, per Car and Driver).

The 02' has been known to run 12.9! If you dont believe me I don't care. Im not saying it's faster than the 03' Cobra so don't go off thinking your proving me wrong. I think your out to get me, but you got nothing on me man, so why do you keep trying?

I know that your not comparing the two really, but all I was saying was lots of cars have "been known" to run certain times. I have no doubt that an SS can easily achieve 12.9, but I dont know about right out of the factory. They have been run a best of 13.3 stock to my knowledge. Most magazines get them to 13.5ish. So Im sure they have "been known" to run those times, but you'd be more sure to run twelves with some gears and a pair of slickys.

  4. Magazine Results are one thing. Seeing it on the track a lot is another. I know a lot of guys on the track and most of the SS I see there are stock and I've seen many run 12.9's but yes mostly low 13's! It takes a good driver to achieve times like this not just gearing and good tires.

  5. Ur all f#cking stupid if u agree with dis guy,cuz he is a d#mb@ss.....he doesnt know a shit about a cars!Let me tell u all one thing that a mustang is the BEST CAR THAT U CAN GET FOR MONEY!!!Mustang Power

Marudur (or whatever) - SLP is not solely aftermarket, did you read my post? They have their hand in every SS and WS6 that roles off the production line. The SS/WS6 SLP version just get a little extra massaging, kinda like Cobras get sent to SVT.

Yea all im saying is stick one of these "good Drivers" that can drop the SS times down from 13.5 to 12.9...think of what they could do to a Cobra that runs 12.6 into a headwind with an overweight driver? Maybe...11.9?

  10. Cobraman! where did you get your avatar pic!!!!????

  11. Oh please, that is such a crock of shit.

It would be VERY rare that an SVT Cobra would run 12.6, and that's in the best possible conditions, 12.8-12.9 is a good average for the SVT Cobra, as it often goes above 13, and occasionally gets below 12.8, I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt here. 11.9 stock is incredibly #$%#ing hilarious, I can't believe you would even venture to imply such a ridiculous impossibility. It's pretty much on par with the 2.5L STi for 1/4, and the best time I've seen for the STi is 12.4, which is undeniably the best possible time it will ever achieve, and 12.8 is a good average for it as well, giving it the benefit of the doubt.

wouldnt doubt it, plenty of vids on the net for proof. fastest i seen stock was 12.1, somewhere in new zealand.

  14. Even though there isn't a production model, SLP are producing products for '79-'09 mustangs now. Unfortunately, GM never came around adding SLPs name in the model name, though.

  15. Question, what are the numbers for your IROC Z/28, dude? Not to sound sarcastic or anything, just wanting know your performance numbers, bro. For me, both the Camaro SS, Firebird Trans Am WS-6 and the SVT Cobra are all my favourite vehicles of all time.

So if you couldn't tell I'm not about picking sides against either one of these, any ways.
