1. This is not the coupe

This is the gullwing, not the coupe.

The coupe had the doors that opened normally.

Regardless, everything else is right about this sexy beast. I have a Dicast of this on my office desk. Deep within the realm of HP.

  2. I think the convertible version of the car featured normal doors. Another way to list this is car would be 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing. I am indifferent as to which I like better.

  3. gullwing sounds a lot more adequate in describing this car to me>>

The 190 was the 4 cyl model.

  8. That's exactly why they go for the amount of money they do. If you can afford on of these then you've got to have plenty cash.

  9. I don't think these stats are right; they may be for the 190. According to MercedesBenz.Com, the 300 SL went about 165 mp/h.

  14. Coupe and gullwing is the same, do you heard about any cabrio gullwing??

  15. Im pretty sure the doors opened normally to accomadate a drop top, so that must have been the convertible...so that leaves...ah yes!The Coupe. (coupe by definition has two doors and a hardtop)

Still, what ever you think (or don't) it'll always be Number 1.

  16. Re:

YOU DUMBASS! THE COUPE WAS THE GULLWING! THE CARS FULL NAME IS THE 1953-59 MERCEDES-BENZ 300SL GULLWING COUPE!

  17. Actually, the "Gullwing" Coupe was produced 1954-1957. The Roadster 1957-1963, which was available with removable hardtop. So there it is, a 300SL Roadster with a hardtop, would have looked like a coupe with normal doors..?
