rFactor Poll: Race Venues

Discussion in 'mclaren777's Website Forum' started by mclaren777, Jan 27, 2006.

  1. I won't be able to race this Saturday because my ex-girlfriend wants me to drive down to Portland to go to the auto show with her. So I was thinking we could either not race this weekend at all, or perhaps race on Sunday evening instead. I know DivineRage expressed interest in Sunday, and it would probably allow BaRRa and henriksjostedt to join us (providing he has time before he leaves for school in the morning). So can you guys post in this thread to let me know what your preference is?

And on a related note, I have two ideas for our next big racing adventure. I've outlined them below.

Option #1: We have a mini-Le Mans series where we have 24-minute races that start at 4:00 pm with 60x time acceleration. If we did this, the races would progress through an entire 24 hours in just 24 minutes, and it would give us a chance to practice our night driving. If we did this option, we'd race at Toban Long, Orchard Lake, and Mills Long.

Option #2: We continue with the short 5-lap races, but we sample a handful of the new tracks that have been released. This would be exactly like what we've been doing (daytime races), except we'd race at Barber Motorsport Park, Trois-Rivières, and the new AF-RF1. And because these tracks are new, I don't want to do long enduros with night driving--they're tricky enough as-is.

So, vote for your favorite option and then make a post to let us know if you can race on Sunday.

  2. Mini Le Mans sounds interesting.

  3. I'd rather do a Toban track, because I ahvn't had much time to practice on the others. Now all I have to do is get myself handy with cars other than the Rhez, and I'll be ait.

  4. Well, now that you have the SC.net Grand Prix mod, you have no excuse not to practice. <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>

  5. Mini LeMans.

and Sunday is definitely better for me, cuz tommorow im starting on my new job, and that means i wont be there for about 4-5 hours on saturday.

  6. I voted new tracks, cause then you guys wouldn't have as much of an advantage as far as experience with the track goes <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/tongue.gif"></A>

Also, could you note the times you're proposing in GMT?

  7. I'm GMT-8 and I was thinking we could race on Sunday evening (my reckoning) any time from 7pm to 1am (also from my reckoning). So I guess that would be between 3am to 9am (GMT).

  8. Can't make is this weekend... some of us can't fail at school because god didnt tell them to succeed.

  9. Yeah, not everyone is as blessed as I am.
