HWA is not a subsidiary, but rather an independent company founded by Hans-Werner Aufrecht, the founder of AMG which was swallowed by Mercedes-Benz:

One of the modified Cizeta's is currently offered for sale by Automobiles Vanderveken from Belgium. It's not on their own site yet, but it's allready put on Classic Driver:

Edit: So, maybe they've restored it or gonna restore it (with it's current engine of course <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/grin.gif"></A>)?

    wut?

Also, the blue BMW Nazca C2 Spyder is an M12. I was browsing through all the pics I've got of Nazca and noticed the difference in headlights. This M12 has chassis # 003.

Does anyone knows how many M12's, C2's and C2 Spyders were made? Or if there even is a difference between the C2 and the C2 spyder?

so, iirc the red #028 McF1 was a Brunei car wasn't it? and that was sold, along with #014

leaving how many McF1's in Brunei at this present time

I don't know anything about #28 ever being in Brunei. And yes, at some point it was at the same dealer as #14 (wich did come from Brunei).

    Here's the list:
    MCL F1 GTR NONE FIGTR009
    MCL F1 BN3388 SA9AB5AC3R1048005
    MCL F1 BN2008 SA9AB5AC4R1048014
    MCL F1 LM KF90 SA9AB5AC9T1048LM1
    MCL F1 LM BP75 SA9AB5AC4T1048LM4
    MCL F1 BN73 SA9AB5AC9R1048008
    MCL F1 LM BM2208 SA9AB5AC6T1048LM5
    MCL F1 BN1954 SA9AB5AC1P1048002
    MCL F1 GT BQ7551 SA9AR5BC8T1048054

Maybe Peleton, Hurst or Mini Magic can tell more. I wanna see pics of all the F1's on this list <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/sad.gif"></A>

Chassis #014 is the only F1 known to have escaped from Brunei at this time. Photos of the others on that list don't exist in the public domain unfortunately. There's a grainy shot of #09R (already in your Brunei album) and an artists rendering of LM1, but that is it right now.

#028 spent some time in Japan, but was never in Brunei.

Automobiles Vanderveken (Belgium) has another ex-Brunei car for sale <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/amazed.gif"></A>, and this one is even more interesting than the PininFarina Cizeta V16/V12:

    PININFARINA ARGENTO VIVO (QUICK SILVER)

Pininfarina the famous Italian design house have been involved with the design of all shorts of vehicles since its’ humble beginnings over seventy years ago. Locomotives, boats, aircraft among others, but famously, cars. Today the company has two manufacturing plants and research and development facility with its own wind tunnel.

The Company most closely associated with Pininfarina is Ferrari. Since 1952 a total of 163 different types of Ferrari are Pininfarina designs, including the 250 GT Coupe, Dino 246 GT, Daytona, Testarossa, F40, F50, 360 Modena and the fantastic Ferrari P4/P5.

The Aregento Vivo was initially a formal and technological research prototype built in conjunction with Honda. This car was presented to the International press at the Tokyo motor show in 1995 by Sergio Pininfarina and Nabuhiko Kawamoto, President of Honda. The car won the “Golden Market Trophy” awarded by the Japanese magazine “Car Styling” and the “Best in Show” from the American magazine “Auto Week”.

According to Pininfarina the “Argento Vivo represents a refined exercise in style, an image car that projects its personality into the world of automobiles. With innovative solutions, like that developed for the convertible hard top, which can slide back automatically and then be housed in a space behind the two seats leaving the luggage compartment unencumbered. Argento Vivo is an automobile that marries hot Latin passion; a love for sporty aggressive cars, so typical of the Italian tradition, with the rationality of a sophisticated brand… Argento Vivo evokes the concept of a sporty and technological elegance. There are few outstanding points of interest, including the return to the two-tone colour scheme, undertaken with a skilful blend of cutting edge fine materials. Aluminium, which with the basic structure constitutes the heart and spine of the new Spider Pininfarina, becomes a fundamental component in the two-tone interplay and in the enlivening of the cars surfaces. The engine and luggage compartments, the roof structure, the air intakes and the exhaust vents are all made of this material, which calls to mind sporty and competition vehicles of extreme class and, at the same time offers a sense of solidity, protection and functional refinement. The rest of the bodywork, on the other hand, is made of resin painted dark blue, a sort of support into which the aluminium parts are inset.”

The Argento Vivo evolved from the Honda based car into further cars based on brand new Mercedes SL600 chassis. Brakes, suspension and gearbox are all AMG as is the 7.3 litre V12 engine. Developing 655 hp, the performance of the Argento Vivo is devastating, 0-60 in less than 4 seconds and a top speed of over 175 mph.

The enterior is custom built by Pininfarina especially for the Argento Vivo and consists of carbon fibre door panels, dashboard, centre console and special leather and carbon fibre seats.

Four of these cars were built for the Royal Family of Brunei. The original cost was over $2,500,000 for each car. Two remain in the Royal Garages in Brunei; the other two are at secret locations in England. The intense secrecy surrounding the special automotive projects that the Royal Family commissioned means that the very existence of these cars is unknown to anyone except those closely involved in the projects, indeed no pictures or details of these cars have been made available. With the Royal Family cutting back on their lavish spending, the specialist workshop facility that Pininfarina used for the construction of the special “Brunei” cars has now been closed, meaning that Argento Vivo will probably be the last Pininfarina Mercedes designed and coach built car.

This might have already been answered..but why did Michael Schumacher sign the Mclaren F1?

  14. Sultan of Brunei car pictures Gallery

Yes, Schumacher (and iirc Irvine) were guests one or more times.

Edit: at least once on 12-03-1996 like you see in the picture <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/grin.gif"></A>

Argento Vivo is awesome, hope we get to see the car soon.

    Obviously <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>

But why the Mclaren F1, doesnt it seem a bit odd? Especially that in 96 he was a Ferrari driver.

  17. Sultan of Brunei car pictures Gallery

Odd indeed - the story goes that it was simply done at the request of someone in the BRF. Apparently he and Eddie Irvine were asked to sign several Brunei cars. I'm not sure what the significance would be.

Apparently the car is being repainted now for it's newest owner, but I am not sure if they have any plans to preserve the signature.

what color is it going to be?

Last word was white with the high downforce kit and black wheels.

Time will tell if that proves to be true.

H&H Classic Auctions just sent us photos of this gorgeous ex-Sultan stretched Range Rover Classic, which is scheduled for auction in March 2007. British coachbuilder Townley, the same firm that is coachbuilder to the Queen of England crafted this Range Rover at an estimated cost of £139,000 from new.

The Sultan’s Rangi is very Rolls Park Wardesk. The rear was stretched four feet and is extremely spacious with just three seats. A full blood red leather interior, power seats, tinted windows, air conditioning, stereo/CD, headphones and two televisions deliver luxury and entertainment to rear passengers, who are separated from the driver by electrically operated division glass. This Range Rover has been meticulously maintained and has only14,000 miles on the odometer. It’s scheduled for auction at H&H Classic Auctions in March. Interested buyers should visit H&H Classic Auctions for more information.
