I've got a '61 4CV, as do my folks. Dad's about got his restored. I'd like to get mine over here to use as a city car. His had an original 28 hp 750cc engine, mine has a 105 hp 1.4 liter. Front suspension is pretty good. The rear, however, is uber-scary.
this isn't a Citroen 4cv this is a Renault 4. BTW my dad had a 4CV and a Dianne probably the most fun car one can trash around the twists.
The Renault 4 and the Renault 4CV are different cars. The one in the first pictures here is a Renault 4CV, like mine and my folks'. The Citroen you are thinking of is the 2CV. http://images.google.com/images?svnum=10&hl=en&lr=&q=renault+4 http://images.google.com/images?svnum=10&hl=en&lr=&q=renault+4cv http://images.google.com/images?svnum=10&hl=en&lr=&q=citroen+2cv I was building mine more like this one: http://www.geocities.com/bob_billiards/my4cv.html
You are totally correct, for some stupid reason I mistake a 4 for a 2, I 'm sorry. Altough I'm sure that most of the european's here will know the 4 better as the 4L or quatre L
talking about citroen 2CV.. did you know they accomodate real easily a ducati engine? saw a 2CV kitcar recently aquiped with a 916 engine. it was a three wheeler, named merlin
I've seen one with a V8, totally different suspension, mega-wide tires. It cruises through my area every now and then. It's such a boss machine.

I live in Lyon, france. But I took the pics at "Le Beage" in Ardeche, center of France, during the Lyon-charbonnieres Rallye. Some pics with the same background...
Around Le Beage...Ardeche is called "the french desert", nobody can live there : mountains and forests, cold in winter, hot in summer, stones everywhere...but GREAT roads and superbs landscapes !
