  1. Just a thought.

    Reduced bhp = improved reliablity.

    exactly

  4. Re: Shouldn't a respectable V12 be making more than 326 HP?

yes, yes it should make more power, but maybe it's geared for low-end torque, couldn't say, no 0-60 time

  5. Re: Shouldn't a respectable V12 be making more than 326 HP?

its the standard outpt for the BMW v-12, they just havent done anything to the engine.

  6. Re: Shouldn't a respectable V12 be making more than 326 HP?

first, a bmw v12 doesn't have a "standard output" no engine has one, everything depends, cc, intakes, gearbox, everything.
second, your dumb, i don't like your signature, im not insulting you, but your signature is dumb

yeah krakhed america has ALWAYS been about the corporations, it practically invented capitalism.

  8. Re: Shouldn't a respectable V12 be making more than 326 HP?

actually, most BMW V12's have been rated at 326 horsepower- 850Ci, 750iL etc... and generally production tolerances on an expensive engine like that are very small... so figure 1-2 horsepower difference at most on every engine. This is a stock BMW V12, that's why it doesn't have that much power. They shouldv'e used the unit from the 850CSi, but that'sjust my humble opinion.

  9. Re: Shouldn't a respectable V12 be making more than 326 HP?

    bmw doesnt make good v12's.

the lack of hp from the v12 doesnt matter too much cuz this car only weighs 2700 lbs.

  10. Re: Shouldn't a respectable V12 be making more than 326 HP?

They make good enough V12's for Gordon Murray to use them atleast.

  11. Re: Shouldn't a respectable V12 be making more than 326 HP?

I think 326hp aint bad for V12.Ofcourse it could have more hp but then reliability would suffer. And if you think 326hp from V12 is weak, then check Ford Crown Victorias V8 (base engine 224 hp and optional 4.6 l sohc 175 hp) That's weak, man!

Exactly, if it were so bad, why did Gordon Murray put a BMW V-12 in the McLaren F1? which BTW outputs 600-something bhp ... can't recall exactly how much.
