  4. Are you stupid?

well at least since 1960's, (68 i think?) when first ZL1 was introduced through a back door program used by Yenko. If you'd research stuff a little before you asked questions like that, maybe you wouldn't seem like such a dumb @$$.<!-- Signature -->

    Here's a list of countries that make better cars then the USA: {empty set}

And ChrisFltard, if you want fast mass production american cars wait for the new 422 corvettes that will be out there shortly, which will also outhandle your POS.<!-- Signature -->

  12. Re: since when did americans make good cars??!?1

And how much are they going to cost? $60k?

    please....

My car can pull over 1.0G's

  13. Re: since when did americans make good cars??!?1

The stock vette can pull well over 1g and a modified vett pull more. What kind of car do you drive?<!-- Signature -->

  14. Re: since when did americans make good cars??!?1

so its not a production car but it is owed by someone as is the Boss Mustang and both are street legal. I'd like to see a foreign company make a street legal V-8 without turbos or superchargers and hit 60 from a dead start in 1.9 seconds

  15. Re: since when did americans make good cars??!?1

Show me where a stock Vette does "well over 1G".

The Z06 can pull 1.00, which is not "well over".

Again, how much are these supposed new Corvettes going to cost?

  16. Re: since when did americans make good cars??!?1

Well, since the time the automobile was popularized. We didn't really realize how good they were until all these oriental countries started giving us their crap to compare our greatness to. And how.<!-- Signature -->

  18. ChrisFL, look around the corvette section and they have it rated at 1.03g somewheres, but most of these are off anyway. I read 1.06g in a mag but I can't find it.

by the way, to the guy who started this thread, I doubt you've even sat in a PORSCHE ---- that is how you spell it.

  19. Re: since when did americans make good cars??!?1

the true cars were in the 60's and the beginning of the 70's: the muscle cars era!

  20. Re: since when did americans make good cars??!?1

I agree with Hemi 8, the good American cars were of the 60's-70's. They emboddied the American spirit they were powerful, loud and well built cars..and even today a classic mustang or vette will turn heads everywhere.

For me, modern american cars don't do a thing for me. They look like they were pressed out of a plastic mold, they look cheap (and they are). There are a few good performers (viper, vette..and dare i say it but even a few 'stangs) but even they use cheap materials to keep the cost down. The interiors are like hell, they are like civics inside, except with worse ergonomics. I admit, yes there should be affordable muscle cars like the vette, but for an 80k viper i just expect more.

If there is a burdon of blame on why people are so divided on american cars, it falls on the shoulders of the profit driven execs.

  21. Re: since when did americans make good cars??!?1

exactly today the goal of manufacturers is to save their costs and to reduce the pollution so they built their cars with cheaper and less durable materials as compared to the past

My mom's Caddie don't have couple holders and we sure wish it did on long trips. Check your alarm clock, it is most likely digital. And digtial is better because it is all woven in to one circut board and doesn't have a heep of mechanical parts.
