A couple of cool photos While researching a story for work, I came across these. They're by far the sharpest period shots of the 1965 Shelby Cobra Daytonas from the Reims 12 Hour race. This was the race in which Shelby clinched the World GT Championship, the only American car to do so. They're not clear at all by today's standards, but photos of this car, from that race are VERY rare. I also managed to find a copy of the actual official race results score card from the event. It's one of my favorite cars of all time and I thought you guys might enjoy them. This is the same chassis that just sold for $7.25 million at auction last year (the most expensive American car ever). And no, they're not 1/18.
Great post! Really enjoyed seeing the Shelby back on the track. I've been trying to do a bit of research for a while on the street version of the 'AC Le Mans Coupe' I believe there was only 1 made? Any info?
