i entered some data into a cartest program to determine what its performance would be like, of course this is just a prediction and not what it will be like - although hopefully they should be quite similar... bhp: 500hp @ 10500rpm torque: 250lb-ft @ 7500rpm 0-60mph: 2.0 secs with a clutch dump @ 1400rpm (although i reckon it would stall) 0-100mph: 5.1 secs! top speed: 183-211mph depending on downforce/drag/gearing fuel economy: @ full throttle in 1st: 10mpg @ top speed: 4mpg @ average in gear: 16-18mpg
Looks about right. The designers themselves predict less than 5 seconds for 0-100mph and less than 2.5s for 0-60mph.
freakin impressive, I love that automakers (however small they might be) are thinking out of the box. ...I'd like to see some interior pics though
maybe 0-60 in about 2.3-2.5 sounds more realistic <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>
For sub 3 second runs you need warmed slick tires on a hot dry track. With conditions like that you could pull off 1.7 second blasts to sixty. But with street tires you won't go anywhere. If you put the slicks on a speed 12 you could get to sixty in 2.5 seconds.
I may sound like an idiot asking this, but about this cartest program you have...is it up for download on a site somewhere? Because I'd like to test it out.
http://www.cartestsoftware.com/cartest4.5/index.html it might not work with xp very well as its ms-dos based. i could send you my version if u want as i have updated it with more modern cars
from what i heard from leftlanenews.com 0-60 takes 1.2s and they say caparo claims 0-100 in less than 3s. TOTALLY UNBELIEVABLE.....
The mid-mounted 3.5-liter turbocharged V8 pumps out 575 horsepower and 310 lb-ft. of torque and will spin up to 10,500 RPMs - not too far off race car engine speeds. A six-speed sequential transmission provides ultra-fast shifts and allows the T1 to accelerate to 60 miles per hour in an unheard of 1.2 seconds. According to the manufacturer, 100 miles per hour arrives in under three seconds with the proper tires and with the adjustable suspension lowered all around for additional downforce and improved aerodynamics.
