Alright, so on boxing day I was going to pick up a LX3, but found a Sony A300 for cheap, under $500 with a 4GB CF card.

Whats a decent lens for this camera, mostly just for car shows etc and reasonably priced? I'm thinking $500-700 in my budget for when I go out and buy one.

Just one lens is good enough for this camera besides the kits lens, so I want to keep costs rather low.

    I'm cosidering this lens: http://www.blackphoto.com/blacks/product.jsp?prdId=3375

  2. you bought the wrong camera.

  3. If you want a good standard zoom, the Zeiss DT 16-80 lens is around that price. If you want a faster lens, the Tamron 17-50 f2.8 can't be beat as well.

  7.
  8. There's a 24mm f2.8 (i think it's 24mm) in a shop near me for £119, used.

    I want it.

  9. sigma?

  10. Nikon

It's not like, new new style or anything but it looks really awesome

  11. I have that same camera and I got the Sony SAL-75300 75-300mm with it as a package deal. So far I am very happy with it and have gotten some good photos with it. I have not yet had a chance to take it to the racetrack or to an auto show but I hope to attend the Portland Auto Show in about a month and will take it with me. Here are a couple shots that I have taken with it.

  12. resize plz

  13. dope. i saw a sigma wideangle somewhere for like 150 or something with 2.8. i neeeeeeeeed it.

  14. 20mm is what i REALLY want

    28 max

  15. yeah same.

  16. I'd like to try the 10.5mm DX lens. looks fun but i guess pretty limited in its use.

do you have any Sigma lenses? I'm reluctant to stray from Nikon's own lenses but if they're decent I may as well save a lot of money and go for Sigma as well

  17. no i only have 18-70 kit lens and 50mm f.18. i don't know if theyre any good.

    50mm 1.8 FTMFW

  19. sucks dude. and yeah 50mm rocks my balls of.

  20. Ok so I finally got all of the pictures I wanted to add on there and re-sized them (thanks for the head up Veyronman). Please know that I am VERY new to photography and this is my first DLSR so I am still learning a lot about how to use it so my pictures are by no means the greatest that can be captured on this camera or lens.

  21. I was about to say 24 is good and often 20 can be too wide, but I remembered you had a crop sensor <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/sad.gif"></A>

28mm on fullframe is one of my most fav focal lengths.

  22. I need to get a 50mm 1.4 for my Canon, I just don't want to shell out the $330 right now.

I think I should have picked it up before i got the 70-200mm. I just don't use it that much

  23. 1.6 crop

it's not ideal but eh i don't know anything else

    i nearly bought a 35mm a few days ago

  24. A lens or camera? If the latter I'd have boned you, willing or not.

Prime lenses are so much fun. Keep your eyes peeled for a 20mm or wider bargain for your camera. You'll be hooked.
