Sportbikes vs Cruisers

    Surprised this hasn't been discussed yet... What do you prefer and why? What experiences do you have on this?

    This is kind of like comparing pony cars(muscle cars) to supercars.



    Anyways I like the seating position on cruisers(not choppers) more.

    I mostly want a Harley. Torque + comfortable seating position.


    But sometimes, a sportbike would be great.


    So both.

    dakar-esque bikes are the only bikes that appeal to me.

    Cruisers are more comfortable, sportbikes are faster.

    Most guys who have cruisers tend to use them as sportsbikes. So for cruising you really buy a convertible.

    Voted superbikes, no big surprise there.

    I used to be a big sportbike guy. but now I would love to have a new iron 883. both are all about image. I probably wont ever own anything but an enduro or dirt only bike. More fun then either.

    Prefer sportbikes, but down the track I would like to own a cruiser also.

    im gonna have a ride on a bmw 1200gs, dunno if that counts as a sportbike or cruiser.

    I prefer sport bikes , but have never ridden a cruiser so I really cant say .. the new Ducati Diavel has been getting some great reviews. Riding a Sportbike to the cottage can get pretty taxing by the 3rd hour or so but a cruiser is not really my style ...

    Motorcycling season begun yesterday. This morning woke up and rode to work... it was -3C when I left... <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>

    We should be getting first proper +10C days this weekend. Hurrah!
