  1. Re: Supercar?

many of the exotic cars on this site are worth mentioning as they are new and interesting but this car holds no interest to me and yes, it is ugly but i must say the fiat multipla is one of the ugliest cars i have ever seen

  2. how can u call this a supercar and put it on a site like this?!
ive seen quite a few cars on this site now whcih are not supercars.
i dont mind the old ones because they were supercars in their own time but this is NOT a supercar

  4. Re: Supercar?

i dunno, in many cases supercars arent always super in the way youre thinking. in a lot of cases, cars on this site are new and/or intriguing, not necessarily just pumping out 400 bhp

  5. Re: Supercar?

This proves the admins are open-minded about cars.

This is a very good thing.<!-- Signature -->

  7. Re: Supercar?

im not sayin all the cas on this site have to pump out 400bhp or more. im jus sayin there is no strikin look to the car. theres nothin in the car that is exactly a new piece of technology<!-- Signature -->

  8. Re: Supercar?

this is not a supercar...that is not arguable.
    it is a luxury sedan.

supercars.net -- they (the admins/webmasters) probably started this site thinking of exotic sports cars. but as time passes by they realized the significance of exotic luxury cars. so i guess it should be called "exotic cars" huh? lol

either way, not every car suits the taste of an individual, but it does strike the industry with some of its own unique features. =)

moreover, 0-60: 9.1s isn't a bad figure for a heavy car like this (if this has to do with anything)

  10. Re: Supercar?

All of you are biased and unfair with a car you haven't seen. This car is very beautiful. But the photos don't show its real beauty. I have seen this car and it is very impressive. It is better looking than MB E-class,Audi A6, Cadillac CTS, Chrysler Sebring, Lexus GS,Mazda Xedos 9,Peugeot 607, Renault Vel Satis, Skoda Superb!! Its alternatives and main rivals!

It is not a supercar but a luxurious one that has the ability to give a new look even to the most advanced technology. It has many innovations and standards that many much more expensive cars don’t have them even as extras.

For example: the CONNECT system (the best telematic and communication system in Europe in 2002) and a 7 inch TFT colour dispay in the dashboard and includes voice recognition, hands-free phone, a navigation system, a stereo, an optional TV and access to the contact centre. Optional radar cruise control, an optional sunroof with solar cells (which power the aircon fan when the vehicle is parked in the sun), a multizone climate control system which on some models has a separate zone for the rear passengers, front and rear parking sensor, a rain sensor, an automatic windscreen wiper system, automatic headlamps, LED tail-lights (with 30 LEDs per unit), optional variable power steering, bi-xenon headlights (with an automatic ride corrector which functions with both static and dynamic pitch changes) and more others.
To emphasise the comfort factor there is also power assistance when opening the doors, the seat and steering wheel move back and up to aid entrance when the door is opened, and the entire process of opening and starting the car is keyless, using a transponder in the drivers pocket. An automatic handbrake (EPB or Electronic Parking Brake) is applied whenever the car is stopped and also features a button on the centre console for manual operation.
As with all modern cars, passive safety is an area emphasised in the press release, the Thesis featuring eight airbags, comprising two multistage front bags, four sidebags and two window-bags, seatbelts with pre-tensioners, adjustable headrests, ISOFIX attachment points, a fire protection system and a carefully designed structure including crumple zones and reinforced doors.
Active safety includes an ESP (Electronic Stability program) which monitors various parameters to determine the yaw and corrects any excessive motion by braking individual wheels or reducing engine power. Traction control (ASR) reacts to both wheels spinning or just one wheel spinning (in the latter case the result is similar to a limited-slip differential), ABS and EBD (Electronic Brake Distribution) which controls the amount of braking to the rear wheels all reduce the possibility of the driver losing control of the car.

The suspension utilises multilink layouts both front and rear. The front suspension is a development of the traditional double-wishbone layout, using five links to control the movement of the wheel, whilst at the rear various arms in aluminium, steel and cast iron also provides a small level of passive rear wheel steering. The damping features a semi-active system known as 'Skyhook' which significantly improves the ride quality. Developed by Mannesmann-Sachs it uses numerous sensors to monitor the relative motion between the wheels and the body then controlling the level of damping provided by each individual damper.

These all for alla of you that say that there is nothing cool it at all.

Basically I haven’t found any photo which represents its beauty, but at least I’ve choose three that are more beautiful than the others.

    ---------------

Fiat Multipla was elected as the best family car for two consecutive years (2001-2) by,maybe the best English magazine, Top Gear.
Some cars don't bother to be beautiful, their main target is something else. Fiat Multipla is one of these, furthermore it is not ugly!! There are much more uglier cars such as Pontic Aztec. But I tell you again I won't accuse any car of its beauty except if it is overrated as "beautiful" car.

PS Fiat Multipla is the ONLY car that there is in the Museum of Modern Art in NY.
