  1. you know sad this car is? i mean yes i give it credit...,but considering that ford had to use a blower on a GT motor, and steal GM's tranny(t-56) ...yet the unblown corvette beats it? terrible terrible a blower and the generals trans-damn ford

    its all in the numbers

    "we did a 4.4-sec 0-60 in the R-model "

"Our seat-of-the-pants impression is that anything less than a Viper or a Corvette Z06 may be in the slow lane next to the new Cobra. Ford engineers claim it'll run almost 110 mph in the quarter mile. We're confident sub-5-sec runs to 60 are entirely possible. "--Motor Trend

Wow, did someone forget to think before they posted something. Maybe you just got done smoking some crack, its ok we understand not everyone can be intelligent.
    Here it goes, 4.5 0-60.
    12.6 in the quarter mile.
155mph top speed (limited, could probably hit 175-180)
Also its not the gt motor that they used idiot, its the cobra engine, which they did alot of work to to make it handle the blower with ease. Please I know that your new, but try a little harder not to be such a moron when posting.

Also a note to remember, that article from Motor Trend is on the Convertible model, which is significantly heavier than the coupe. Why? cuz they're has to be a lot of reinforcement on the convertible roof making it a fatty, which in turn means it runs sub 5's and low 13's! the coupe however runs 4mids and 12mids so there is a big difference between what you read and what we're really talking about.<!-- Signature -->

Are you talking about the Tremec T56 made by BorgWarner, the one that the Dodge Viper uses? You should of remained a blow job, better yet, how is it that they gave birth to you, when you popz pulled out and dropped the load on a tissue. Your remarks are like give mouth to mouth to a corpse....A WASTE OF BREATH.

I really hate when people say something that doesnt make any sense and is really a dumb comment. The 2002 SVT Cobra is not supposed to be a competitor to the zo6. It has a Dodge tranny not a GM one. Plus the cobra costs a lot less than the zo6. I am a chevy fan but I do not support your comment, lovechevysandvws. Why did you make such a fool of yourself?

  6. Re: terribly sad...read

If they used the Cobra motor, and not the GT motor, then why is it 4.6L?
    Retard.

  7. Re: terribly sad...read

There is no such thing as a 2002 Mustang Cobra.

  8. Re: terribly sad...read

what a dumbass......is this the only thing you blower hating nimrods can do....compare this car to a z06? that's not it's target. but i guess you have to find something to have some pride in now, huh? don't like the car...don't look at it. simple as that.

no such thing as a 2002 cobra... your dumber then the first guy. what is up with you people posting absolutely retarded comments????

  11. Re: terribly sad...read

OK, idiot. Since you dicided to insult me with your ingnorance allow me to take you to school. There were NO 4.6 liter Cobras in the year 2000 or 2002.

In 2000 they had the 5.4 Liter Cobra R, but only 300 were made and there were NO 4.6 liter SVT Cobras. This is because Ford was scrambling to fix the horsepower problems of the 1999s. By the time they got the bugs worked out, the new Cobras were labeled 2001. The 2001 Cobras finally made good on the promised 320 horsepower. It turned out to be an outstanding car, and in my opinion they're the most unappreciated Mustangs out there.

Then came the new SVT project, blow the Cobra. Everyone learned very quickly that the 4.6 DOHC engine becomes an absolute beast when you supercharge them. Ford's SVT team was no different. They set out to to make a factory blown, 2002 Cobra. But like the fix of the '99, the project extended long enough to skip an offical year; therefore, you have the 2001 Cobra and the potent 2003 Cobra. No 2000. No 2002.

Fortunately for me most people on this website know that the fxck they're talking about. So, in the end, YOU end up looking like the retard.

    Have a nice day.

perhaps, yet Mustang Production started Sept. 4, 2001 there by i say there was a 2002 cobra even if it were really the exact same car as a 2001, what time of year is it now and what year are you calling the nwest mustang? glad to see you fired up though, ps glad to see yuo have the free time for 1100 posts, you either need a job, an education, or to stop being a geek. Later

  14. Re: terribly sad...read

Oh really? Try running the vin number on ANY Cobra and you will not fine a single one that says 2002. You insulted me and it turned out that YOU were wrong. Stop being a baby about it and be man enough to admit it.
PS: There are many people on this site that have way more posts than I do. Do they need a job and an education too? Have fun searching for your 2002 Cobra.

  15. Re: terribly sad...read

Who cares. There were Cobras produced and bought in 2002, but no 2002 Cobra. Let it go.

  16. Re: terribly sad...read

    Hoseman,
I made a statement that was 100% correct, and he then called me a stupid retard. I don't think you would take that sh1t from anyone either.

  17. Re: terribly sad...read

How can you down a car do you build cars? Do you know how much time and patince it takes to build a car? If you can do it faster and and make the go faster. If you can't shut tha #$%# up.

  18. Re: terribly sad...read

Stupid quarrel despite the fact that you're right. Reminds me of a certain accord owner who refused to stop refering to the 'regular 2000 cobra' and the '2002 cobra'. LOL.

  19. Re: terribly sad...read

seansvette, your comments are always appriciated, and you your post always worth to read, since they got knowledge in them. good man keep up the good work, and shut those people who just like acting retarded up.

  20. Re: terribly sad...read

    Ponycarpilot and mariowrc,
Thanks for the kudos! It's a big complement considering there are a lot of great posters on here. Guibo and Hoseman come to mind. I just love performance cars and this a great forum to discuss all sorts.

  21. Re: terribly sad...read

If you have such a big problem wiht forced induction, then why not hate the Ferrari F40? Or the Porsche 911 Turbo?

  22. Re: terribly sad...read

I don't post alot on there forums because of idiots but SeansVette shows that a few people have a brain on these fourms. jsscr2000, you did insult the man and were proved wrong. Like he said the 00 model never made it off the lot because of the redesign and he got out by 2001 and 2002 there was never a Cobra produced. The new "replacement" for the Cobra will be the Mach 1...fro how long who knows. But 4 "base" models of the Mustang will be made and sold in 2003 or late 2002 which the 03 Cobras are already showing up. So you got with V6 with 190hp or so, the GT with 260hp, the Mach 1 with around 320hp, and the new Cobra with 390. For the people downing it because of its "weight" it really doesn't matter but it does on the strip. The Z06 will leave the Cobra but not without a good fight. Nothing short of the Z06 can really touch it.

  23. Re: terribly sad...read

The Cobra isn't being replaced, it remains at the top of the mustang heirarchy. The Mach1 replaces the bullitt. Base, GT, Mach 1, Cobra.

  24. Re: terribly sad...read

Yes I'm quite aware of that. The Cobra reamins at top but what I should of said "took the place" of the old 320hp Cobra. So Ford could have the V6, GT, Mach 1, and the Cobra w/390. You might be right that the Mach 1 taking the place of the Bullitt but I kinda think its doing that but takes the place of the old Cobra. Keeping around the name price ranges of the old Cobra.

Lord have mercy, Seansvette, I do believe you handed Mr Stupid his ass on a platter.
