Re: Test by Autocar hey,I had just read the Autocar mag, 1.The Autocar guy didn't drive the Enzo,it's Dario who drive it. 2.The Figures of 3.5s to 60 mph 6.6s to 100 mph 13.1s to 150mph were done with both, (read carefully!) both Dario and the Autocar guy in the enzo. That means the enzo is at least 75kg heavier than it should be.Dario first drive a warm up lap in the fiarano, than the real thing began. Also Dario didn't drive back to back to do the best acc time for the enzo.Dario started off the enzo at 2100 rpm. 3. autocar mag had already contacted an owner who will borrow the enzo to them, but the shipment of the enzo was delayed by a few months, so they turned to Ferrari for the tesing of the enzo. 4.Autocar admitted that the enzo will be best tested independently by them, they didn't say that the Enzo is slower than Mclaren F-1. They will not concluded that until the enzo is properly tested by them.
Re: Test by Autocar The Figures of Mclaren F1 done on 11th May, 1994 were done with (read carefully!) Jonathan Palmer and TWO Autocar guys in the car. That means the Macca was also at least 2 X 75kg heavier than it should be.
Re: Test by Autocar the times run were still pretty good with that excess weight in the car...<A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/smile.gif"></A> the batmobile dominates pretty much all...
Re: Test by Autocar Dude, what's with you and the Batmobile? If you love it, ok, but to mention it in every single post you make is to be obsessed. Oh, and I love the Jaguar V12 also, I've got a 91 XJ-S Convertible with a factory body kit on it, looks totally kick-ass. I just don't like that it's a three speed, and that it shifts at 5,000 rpm at the most, while its redline is at 6,500. But yeah, one of the greatest motors.
Re: Test by Autocar Also read carefully, because it wasn't the standard F1 car, it was a prototyte that wasn't even street legal.
Re: Test by Autocar Come on guys, you gotta admit... the McLaren F1 is faster in a straight line. Its just a tad bit less powerful yet so much lighter. But around the track... that's probably a different story.
Re: Test by Autocar So NOT true, the test that the F1 did so well on in Autocar was a "race car" version F1, it is well known. Even with that being, the Enzo Ferrari is just as quick or quicker in some respects. Who cares about top speed, about 220 is PLEANTY. And the Enzo Ferrari would KILL it on any track, and can easily out-brake it.
Re: Test by Autocar So? It still WASN'T a production car, the car was messed around with. It is a well known fact, that test means nothing.
Re: Test by Autocar Amen.....besides on a road track wiht those cars ur not gonna get above 200MPH....all the mclaren haters say I....I
Re: Test by Autocar Look in my Enzo specs correct? thread in the European cars forum, There you can find ALL the specs and tests ever on the Enzo.
Re: Test by Autocar Yeah I have the 2 magazines here, and I checked their websites....as I said both got 0-60 mph in 3.1 sec!!!! Looks like YOU should "check again".
Re: Test by Autocar Well i just gotta say this although i know Ferrari fans are gonna hate me for it but the Enzo sucks truly in its looks and the first impression on any car is always by its looks even if it may be a technical delight. i saw the actual car in the Ferrari Showroom at Park Lane in it looked truly horrible. other than that i read somewhere in Autocar or some other car mag that Ferrari wasn't allowing anybody to do Speed/Time tests on their car and hence they had to ask some owner who was willing to lend his car. This just goes to show that maybe Ferrari already knows that their car can't beat the McLaren and they just don't want to shot it to the world. Other than that lets see what happens. Maybe Ferrari gets the F60 out sooner to compete against the Upcoming Veyron which in pictures looks really good.
