  1. Re: No Chance!?

    LOL!! RS4..ok =)
    that makes more sense =)
But come on..if someone wants to take the time and money, the can easily get that engine up to 800hp.
    it's been done with the Nissan's famous 2.6L I6 engine =)

  2. Re: People want to know what hp this has

yeah but the caddy, audi, bentley, etc. are in a different class

i think the BMW is also naturally inspired since all of their road cars are naturally inspired

  3. Re: People want to know what hp this has

"The Caddy, Bentley, Audi and a few other open cockpitted V8 engines are are all LMP900s.
Caddy is the only naturally aspirated car of them all I think due to it's displacement of like 8.0L.
All the other cars are smaller displacement but with 2 turbos."

Very wronge information......First off, Cadilac is not Naturally Aspirated at all. It is a twin Turbo Northstart V8. It is 4 liters and twin turbod. Also, there are MANY NA cars competing in LMP900......the biggest one being Panoz, which uses a 6.0L Ford derivative engine. It is based off a pushrod 5.0L Ford engine, but of coarse shares no parts with that engine, just the block design. Also, there are many JUDD engines, which are all NA, around 4 Liters. In the past years, there have been MANY NA engine top level LMP cars....such as BMW, Mercadees, ect. Last year Puegout had a twin turbo V6.

Id also like to point out that there are MANY 4 cylinder LeMans cars of the past ten years, and in IMSA and stuff. The most succesful race sports car in US racing history is the Dan Gurney MKIII Toyota Eagle GTP cars of IMSA.....with its 2.1L turbo engines making around 750HP. Within the past two years, there have been many 4 cylinder LMP675 cars. MG, WR, some Raynards, ect.

Also, note that LMP675 is becoming more and more popular, and tops teams are very much considering it for the future.....reason?....because LMP675 cars will be much more succesful in the years to come than LMP900. The MG is overall as fast as the top Audi R8s, and at some races faster. Such as at Sebring, the 675 MG killed the rest of the field in qualifying as it took pole. At LeMans last year(its 1st year at lemans!!!) the MG was in 3rd place for a time, before shitty british electronics got soaked in the rain. Also, LMP675 cars have much smaller engines, which means much less fuel consumption, and that is a HUGE factor in long races. Now, no LMP675 has won a ALMS, LeMans, ect yet, but that is due mainly to the fact that they are new, and still have some problem, namely the awsomely fast MGs. They are very reliable in terms of their engines, but the electronics continue to give problems.

  4. Re: People want to know what hp this has

    4agze ,

You're right , the max displacement allowed at LM is 6.0L without turbos.

  5. Re: People want to know what hp this has

    Ooops..my bad then.
I read somewhere that the Caddy was running a NA engine.
    Oh wells =)

    LOL...shitty british electronics.
    you know.
for a country that has a lot of rain and damp weather...it's amazing that they haven't figured a way to prevent water damage =P

  6. Inline 4?

It says that it has an inline 4 does anyone know if that is true or not? And does anyone have any performance numbers on this machine.

  7. Re: Inline 4?

    It's a turbocharged I4.<!-- Signature -->

  8. Re: Inline 4?

The LMP675 class have a displacement limit of 2 liters and turbocharged I believe. But most of these cars are putting down around 500 horses which combinded with the 675kg weight limit would be a great power to weight ratio

  9. Re: Inline 4?

    very right.

  11. Re: Inline 4?

If you have a power limit (like GT racing does) does it not make sense to use a lighter engine than a bigger one to achieve the same power? 2.0 liter I4 turbos have been made to produce well over 1000hp so power is no problem (thank you Turbo power!) Even if the car is under the weight limit, they can and will use ballasts that can be placed where ever it is best for weight distribution and handling (put the weight where its needed).<!-- Signature -->

  12. Re: Inline 4?

Yes good for turbo power making a inline four produce 1000hp but do u realize what it is doing to the engine???<!-- Signature -->

  13. Re: Inline 4?

For 675 class, the force induction motor have a displacement limit of 2 liter, normally aspirated engine has a limit of 3.8 liter. This engine is capable I think of 550bhp, I don't know what is the restrictor rule on the 675 class though....<!-- Signature -->

Good point, but considering that this is a custom job and there are factory 2L blocks that can handle power like that, its no prob. They can always just do a rebuild on it if they need to or replace it I think.<!-- Signature -->

  15. Re: The Audi R8 smokes this car hard

its also kinda funny that the dumbass would compare them without knowing anything about this car. . . i bet this thing beats many cars in ITS OWN class. . . <!-- Signature -->

  16. Re: The Audi R8 smokes this car hard

Of course the R8 would smoke this! They are in different classes, however don't count this out, it has a simular power to weight ratio to that of the R8, and this car has seen qualify much better than many 900's including many R&S, and some Panozes.

  17. Re: MG Lola EX257 vs BMW V12 LMR vs Audi R8 vs Others

It doesn't exist in LM series..
And no they are not prototype cars or cars that are souped up beyond ID.

And GT cars do run on the LeMans track.
on different dates and races =P

No point in cluttering the track with slower cars.

People want to know what hp this has

Last year this car had around 450bhp visit http://www.mulsannescorner.com/mg675.htm

The 2002 will not be much different from last year, but i think they will finish and finish hight up the table.

  19. Re: People want to know what hp this has

I heard that it had 500HP, but that is really close, so it is around there.<!-- Signature -->

    wow thats amazing
never knew le mans cars were I4s

  21. Re: People want to know what hp this has

not all of them are. sometimes they compete in different classes too. just depends. i think the caddy is a V8 and the bently has twin turbos.

    Hmmmm..all very true =)
Thing is about the 1000hp is that it's rarely achieved with only 2 turbos..and if it is..Turbo Lag would kill!!
Not to mention the intercoolers would be the entire size of the engine compartment and you better have some good ducting to get air in there too!
    also..the 1000hp 2.0L cars also run on NO2. So it can't sustain the 1000hp.
    I know the Blitz R34 GTR car do the 1000hp runs on turbos only though..but it's a 2.6L I6 with 2 turbos I believe.

Anyways..this little car kicks ass! Might be small..but then it handles way better than the large 900 class cars.

Sorry, I meant that there were factory blocks that could handle 500 hp+, not 1000. I dont know anything about that.<!-- Signature -->
