I totally agree, I am just a bit impressed not to see a bunch of stupid faks bashing it yet. You know, intelligent views like "Miata is for chicks" etc.
You're right, my mistake. It is tied between F50 and Renault Clio Trophy for the 7th place. My favourite Ferrari can be found in 24th place on this list.
Yeah, when you and I drove the F1 and GT-R, I couldn't stop thinking about how much more involving the F1 was.
I really like this article, it managed to describe each car fairly well given the limited space. So how many out of the list have you driven? 76. Mini Cooper S 62. BMW M3 E92 56. Jaguar E-Type 46. Porsche 911 Turbo [993] 36. Lotus Exige 34. Lotus Esprit V8 Sport 350 22. Honda Integra Type-R [1996-00] 19. Lotus Elise [1996-00] 9. Mazda MX-5 1.6 6. Lotus Elan [1973]
possibly the MkII? AFAIK it was only the MkI V6 that was a handful. i'm a sucker for lists like these but it feels like a lazy piece of journalism.
The issue was very good, well written. Oh hell yeah, my car 75th <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>
Many aren't even available in the US and I haven't driven much, so... 100. Toyota MR2 Mk1 17. Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano 9. Mazda MX-5 1.6 Haha... Hopefully I'll add more with time, though.
Well I'm in Canada, same boat. Although every single one of those cars I only got to drive because of my job. Without that my list would be zero.
I owned an MKI (and MKII Turbo) MR2 and my brother owned the Miata. I drove the 599 very briefly. I'm hoping that my magazine will eventually allow me to get behind the wheel of all kinds of cool stuff. With this last issue I didn't drive any of the cars, unfortunately. Drove two of them from the issue before (La Bala prototype and Ferrari California).
If you don't already have the issue of EVO that has it, their current "Best of EVO" Magbook thing has their 2004 group test of the 288 GTO, F40, F50 and Enzo. Great read.
Nissan GT-R and Honda Integra Type-R (21st and 22nd respectively) need to GTFO. Honda Integra maybe not totally out, but much lower. GT-R just GTFO.
I didn't drive it in anything actually, but I do know that the thing is so computer assisted that it shouldn't even be considered a driver's car. It's a very good car with unbelievable performance, yes, but definitely not a driver's car.
Evo are not the only ones who have rated it highly as a driver's car, and there's good reason for this. There's a lot more to a car than the level of computer assistance.
