I highly doubt this thing ges 400mpg. Possibly 40. If this gets 400mpg, this is my new favorite car. This looks very futuristtic, potentially from the 30th century. WOW, Honda, great great job. I'm sorry, but this thing would whoop a Ferrari. I'm sorry I said it, but this is soo much better.

    It's 40mpg. I think it's pretty good for a 400hp car.<!-- Signature -->

    Hi "Honda rulez",

I just wonder why Vipers suck, but Corvettes don't...
Despite the design they're pretty much the same: bulky cars with great performance and good handling only when compared to a derailed train; if you like those cars it's ok, but where's the difference ?

What hurts me much more is that you think the MR-S is a bad car.
Why ? Please tell me what it is as i simply have no idea what it could be. I think it's an affordable funcar with good performance and great handling. Sure, it's something completely different than a Corvette (fortunately).
If you don't like the MR-S you simply don't like funcars; and if you don't like funcars you either never had the chance to drive one or you were driving it like some drag-race-car what this gem really didn't deserve...

It makes about the same hp, but with a less c.c engine. I mean 8.0L only makes 450hp is not enough. and 5.7L makes 405hp is okay. Oh, sorry, that was a typo, I didn't have time to fix it, I think the MR-S is a good car, but not the MR-2 (SW-20). The MR-S is pretty nice, u know, MR layout, decent acceleration, and looks kinda..um...cute. The MR-2, is a failure. It has too much power for its weak chassis, which means it's handling is awkward.<!-- Signature -->

400 hp and 40mpg thats pretty damn good. I would take one.

  10. Re: the future is now. 400mpg!

Hey "Honda Rulez" you are obviously pretty stupid. You're talking about pure American power. Ask anyone what they think about that and they will say the viper(atleast the smart ones). One thing is for sure, you put up a stock viper up against any model of the corvette and the viper would still kick it ass. Garanteed!

Re: the future is now. 400mpg!

Sure the Viper has better performance than the Corvette, but the technology that is in the Vette is way higher than the Viper. At least, the Vette doesn't need a 8.0 engine to go fast. And here's a saying which most Americans always say: bang for the buck. And this is exactly wut's Z06 is like.

You guys... its a honda, if they typod 400 mpg and its 40... then, being a HONDA, it probably has 40 hp instead of 400. Prolly runs off banana peels and used diapers.

  14. Re: the future is now. 400mpg!

    It's 400hp and 40mpg.

  15. Re: the future is now. 400mpg!

Honda rulez has a point on the bang for buck thing, but the Viper outperforms the Corvette in every category except for braking(motortrend musclecar of the year test). The Viper suprisingly outperforms the Vette in handling and slalom. The Viper looks like it has a longer wheelbase so I wouldn't think it could outperform the Vette but it did. So the Viper may just be worth a price tag 2wice as much as the Vette. and Nick you put a picture of a Camaro just to Torment Honda-rulez didn't you. I like the Trans-Am better even though they are basically the same car and the Camaro SS is a little faster even.

  16. Re: the future is now. 400mpg!

No kidding, teh Viper's brakes suck!

  17. Re: the future is now. 400mpg!

haha... if this thing had 400MPG, I'd buy gas on a 3 month basis, and get a job delivering Pizza again.

Woudln't it be sweet to add fuel to your tank as often as you change your oil? LOL. Too bad that's not the case though... you got my hopes up and everything.

Hey Honda Rulez: What's the deal with you and MR-2's? The 1st gen. MR-2's sucked, that much is a given, but the 2nd gen. turbo models were #$%#ing AWESOME! The MR-S is, well... cute, but the lack of a turbo re-establishes it as boring. Other than that, I know absolutely nil about MR-2's... what model is an SW-20? Is that what you were getting at the whole time?

I love reading your posts, Honda Rulez... it's always fun to see what you bring to the table, and you're always a good conversationalist.

    Peace, i'm out!

  18. Re: the future is now. 400mpg!

Oh no, the first MR-2 was awesome. The purposes of MR-2 is : a lightweight sports car with decent performance and handling that is also affordable. And the first gen MR-2 met these requirements. But the 2nd gen was just too heavy to be considered to be a light weight car, come on, a curb weight of over 1200kg is just too much, the first gen was just about 1000kg! See the difference? Then, the first gen MR-2 has an excellent chassis, its strong enough to handle its engine power. But teh 2nd gen? Oh my god...its chassis was too weka to handle such immense power! Early testers even said they felt the chassis of the MR-2 was bending during cornering! The MR-S brings back the "tradition" of teh first gen MR-2, which is fun to drive, lightweight, and affordable.

The SW-20 is the 2nd gen of MR-2, while AW-11 is the first gen.

    Thank you for the compliment!

Re: the future is now. 400mpg!

You must not know much about the SW-20 in which you speak at all...

The MR2, with no chassis upgrades whatsoever, has held 750hp from Garage Fukui aka Phoenix Power in Japan. Several MR2s run 300-400 daily in the U.S. with no problems with the chassis whatsoever. The Beast is one of the prime examples: http://www.mr2beast.com

I have never seen any road test report or any owner complain about chassis flex, and I've read every MR2 article written, and spoken to many who race it on a regular basis, which BTW, I race also, on a regular basis.

Of cuz, i ahven't test drove the SW20 before. But from wut i've seen in car magazines.
