In my opinion, the greatest supercar of all time is the Radical SR8 (pictured in my avatar). This car is produced by the british company Radical Sports Ltd ( http://www.radicalextremesportscars.com). Modeled after modern LeMans LMP class cars, the SR8 is designed to e the ultimate street-legal road course racer. Weighing just 1433 pounds, the tiny, open, two-seated roadster is powered by a 363bhp Powertec V8, giving it a remarkable power to weight ratio of 558.43764131214 hp per tonne or 3.947658402204 pounds per hp. Race-derived chassis and suspension provide the semi-slick tires with incredible grip, enabling the car to reach 3G during hard cornering or braking. The SR8 holds the overall lap record at the Nurbugring Nordschleif (6 minutes and 55 seconds)! Best of all, they're cheap as hell! Prices vary, but new ones usually run from $25k to $45K. I've seen used ones as low as 13K! They can be imported from the UK to the US, but I don't know if they're street-legal here.

There will always be faster cars. The Veyron was made a decade later than the McLaren F1. IMO the F1 was a bigger achievement.
