  1. 3 inch is too much, even on a 400 hp sti
  2. 3 inch is the way to go in turbobrick communities.
  3. What about a 225 hp full interior Mustang?
  4. Bought a rear diff guard/skid plate hybrid and some lift shackles (2" longer) today. Just gotta pick up some new ujoints, fluid, and a gasket + some longer shocks. Might buy new bearings as well and get everything fixed in one go.
  5. I'm not sure what you guys are talking about. If I was throwing this 3'' on a naturally aspirated Honda with the gutted cat, yes, I would want to kill myself after 5 minutes of driving. I did say though that I'd likely be waiting till I turbo or supercharge the car to install it. The turbo would certainly hush things down, my 240 was a silent killer till WOT. I also mentioned possibly throwing the oem cat/aftermarket high flow cat on to keep noise levels down.

I know NA Honda's sound like a saw with some aftermarket exhausts. That is NOT my goal. And the 3'' is the only way to go as far as I am concerned with boosted cars.
  6. No emissions testing here! <A BORDER="0" HREF=""><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>

Not that I don't care though. If I can have a eco-friendlier car, all the better
  7. that thing really reminds me of the batmobile, haha
  8. It's bigger then it looks in the first picture. Just snapped it at a odd angle.

Bought more goodies for the pile today. Just need to buy some diff fluid, silicone, and either find front shocks in stock somewhere or just order them in.
  9. this thread is ruined. too many deleted posts
  10. Err... what's growing in my tire? I did hit some weird thing coming out of the road a week ago, but I don't know if that did this. Is this safe? Seems to drive fine.
  11. It's a separation. You need a new tire, it can pop/further separate at any time.

    Unrelated, hard parking photo op.
  12. not safe at all. time for a replacement.
  13. What's the most annoying and loud tyre on the market?
  14. Installed the boost controller but couldn't make more than 15 psi, which is what the turbo was making before I put on the boost controller.

I disconnected the wastegate vacuum line and found the same thing, but I should be boosting to high heaven with that disconnected.

It could be as simple as a stuck wastegate or leaky bypass valve or something fun like a clogged cat, which will give me an excuse to upgrade the exhaust.
  15. n00b
  16. I'm pretty sure you're the most annoying and loud person on this wesbite.
  17. But it was making 15 psi before? Doesn't make sense to me that it could be a clogged cat, since it was working just fine prior to the boost controller install.

What kind of boost controller is it? Something similarhappened to my brothers WRX. He was fiddling with his Greddy and then it got stuck at 5psi (14 or 15 psi is stock). And then someone broke into his car and stole the deck, which had the Greddy mounted inside the pocket underneath. Great.
  18. <A BORDER="0" HREF=""><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/sad.gif"></A>

Thanks for the heads up. Guess I'm not driving it tomorrow.
  19. It's not the boost controller. I unplug the wastegate control line and still max out at 15 psi when there should be nothing stopping the turbo from creating pressure.

I have a new bypass valve spring and diaphragm that needs to be installed. If that doesn't fix the problem then it's probably the wastegate itself or a clogged exhaust.
  20. You're gonna die! <A BORDER="0" HREF=""><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/sad.gif"></A>
  21. ^ lame. But an excuse to buy new better stuff is always good. Unless you don't got money.

Point in case: it will take 1 week for my new tire to arrive from Edmonton. That particular Nokian is no longer made, and will cost me $260 <A BORDER="0" HREF=""><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/sad.gif"></A>.
  22. Great, so it'll sound like a 100dB vacuum cleaner instead of a 100dB band saw...
  23. haha, don't worry it's parked (I appreciate the concern). The tire probably won't get here for about a week. And here are sound some references, if I go with either of these routes:

Both are a lot quieter than any kind of heavily modified V8...

Also, I just found out that I am running 205/50/16, when I am supposed to be running 205/55/16...
  24. V8 sounds better tho
  25. are people posting https links just to annoy me?
