This is the reason why I put on hold the purchase of a muscle car. I'm doing some renovations on my house. What it's being done is that I'm adding another bedroom and at the same time extending the dining room. And also, there was a big ditch in my backyard and I installed a 36 inches diameter pipe and took the extra dirt for the basement to be added on top of the pipes.
I took out the rear deck, destroying it was quit amusing. My buddy digged behing my house and a contractor(sp?) did the fondation with cement. The left lower window will become a door.
The contractor put up some kind of a structure that is filled up with cement that will become the base of the extention on my house.
In the basement, I openned up the wall that will become a door. With my surprise, there's some plumbing in the way!<A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/angry.gif"></A>
Today, the wooden structure was removed, and a layer of black tar was added to the base of the cement walls. That protects it when its underground. Also, the door to have access to the basement was done.
nice man. that's quite some extra space youll be getting <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>
Now, all the earth, soil, dirt, whatever you called it was added back next the the cement fondation and isolating foam was installed inside of it. also the cement block inside the fondation was removed. That black plastic pipe or tubing was added for the gutters.
I took off most of the aluminium siding on the house today. This was needed to be done because the wall will be connected on the house and at the same time, I'll replace it with new ones because it got some damaged on it from the 1998 Ice storm.
Now, all the walls were put up and the openning for the windows, AC unit and patio door are also done.
Get those lads to put up drywall and do the painting! That's what I had to do for my parent's reno <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/sad.gif"></A>
