Thinkin about getting a bike.

1. only if it lands on you.
2. I'm fully aware of that. It wasn't till I got a ride on my brother's 2005 Kawasaki ZX6-R (636cc) that I started to comprehend this.

That bike is utterly insane! My brother (all 115kg's of him) has been riding for several years and he can't deploy full throttle in second gear going DOWN a hill because there's just so much grunt.

I went out for a ride as a passenger with a friend who was riding conservatively. I thought he was going pretty hard under acceleration. Then I found out he was using part throttle and only half the revs.

Mclaren F1 performance on a crotch rocket for less than the price of the cheapest new car on sale in Australia.
3. Are you the member who is fixing one up?
4. And about a hundred times the likelihood of death.

edit: Not that bikes aren't cool though.
5. a Goldwing runs a 13.2 lol
6. If I had a chance of a bike, it would be a speed triple. love those things.
7. mine does 12.6 lol
8. damn. What do you have?
9. 1982 yamaha seca 650
10. *did
11. I was thinking that, but then figured it'd be more hassle than it's worth. It's a '97 CBR with 45,000k's on the clock and wasn't serviced by the previous owner. Add to this that my brother owns the wreck and him and I aren't on the best of terms atm.

Finally, whilst the chassis LOOKS okay, I don't know how okay it is and I'd prefer to trust my life to something that has a clearer history and hasn't been fixed up from a decent accident.

So, I've canned that idea in the name of safety, sanity & money.
12. If you're thinking of spending balllpark $7k AUD, the new model Aprilia's just under 9, I believe. I'm thinking about getting a bike too, and as far as the restrictions go here in NZ (can't ride anything bigger than 250ccs on your learners) it's the only bike under that classification I really want. It looks absolutly stunning, too.
13. all i needis ANOTHER clutch lever

it fell on the right side, but the clutch broke wtf
14. That thing is awesome
15. Tenfold. There's only one dealer in the country here that I know of that imports them new (;_ and for $10k, while most Jap/Korean 250's are $7k, but it shits all over them. I was out cycling on friday morning and one passed me. First one I've seen in the flesh, and I almost died.
16. We'll have to see. It's a hot bike but I'm not totally sold on the looks. However, in person is the only real way to tell how good a piece of machinery is. I'll have a look it this weekend.
17. i wish we got aprillas
18. We do.
19. Actually, this is a cool bike
20. There is only one obvious answer here: a Hayabusa with a high-pressure turbocharger. j/k.

21. That is a hot-looking bike and I love those air intakes. Unfortunately though, that little "600" sticker on the back makes me a sad panda.
22. Thats unfortunate, I really want a 600 TT, with that flag sticker on the back.
23. Blackface is going to bust the motorcycle 411 on you guys.
24. I personally love that Aprilia, but keep in mind that the engine needs regular rebuilds because of the nature of its design. But since it's incredibly basic (it only has one cylinder), you may be able to do it yourself.
25. this is what I had for my first bike, plenty fast

it was a 2006 kawasaki 500R, faster than any other 500 cc out there, cheap insurance too
