This car is FUGLY......and more!!!

Well, I've said enuf about this car elsewhere on this board, but I just have to say it one more time. IT'S FUGLY!!!!

Okay, okay, looks are subjective right? (BMW fans), let's look at performance. 115HP?? What the hell is BMW doing, and where the hell is it going? (Down maybe?)

And wow, it comes with SMG and i-drive, why? Why put good things in a crappy car?

Anyways, I was actually waiting for supercars.net to post this car, so more ppl can see how ugly it is.

Thank god you put a forum up! I was not real sure about the other pages of forums! I mean, 10 or so saying the same thing is not anywhere near adequate right?

As for all your "comments": The tech features of this car are there to showcase them. This is a concept, so thats what it does, it showcases. And you cant talk about the performance of this car. We have no idea about the weight. Thats kinda important to little things like the laws of physics and all. You know, that F=MA stuff. And if we did have the weight and some other info, we would compare this to equivalent price and style cars like the VW's and such, not the general caliber of performance seen elsewhere on the site.<!-- Signature -->

This is a concept car meaning that BMW has no plans in releasing this car with these specs. And bhp isn't everything. Did you even bother reading the amazing technological and comfort features that this car has? If this car goes into production, it will definitely get a bhp boost, and if not, BMW will follow it up with a more powerful 6-cylinder (like it did with the Z3) or an M version (like it did with the Z3 M roadster). And the word SUPERCAR does not only refer to bhp and speed. The term Supercar refers to vehicles that are uniquely designed or engineered. This car has technologically unique features and luxury, and it's a fresh BMW design.<!-- Signature -->

Yea, I understand this is a concept and they put everything they have in it. But imagine they go and produce this car WITHOUT all that. Wouldn't that be even worse than THIS piece of crap?

Okay, now the other case. WHat if BMW OKs this and make it into production. This time WITH all the technology in it. So it's a 115HP car with all the top-end technology in it. Which means a high price. Then the question is: will it sell?

What if it uses a more powerful engine, or even an M-powered engine? But there is the Z3/M-Roadster, why make another model which is in the same category with an existing model, especially when this one is even fuglier than the Z3?

So either way, I think it will stay a concept. And I hope it stays a concept. (Not that I like BMWs, but I just don't want to see such an ugly car on the streets, haha)

Okay, I see ur point, if you compare this with a Jetta, or Miata or MR-S, then it could be a different story. But if this is the case, then it will more than certainly NOT come with all the technology.

But the LEAST BMW can do if this car goes into production, is to change the styling. (Honestly, I know looks are subjective, but this is really too ugly.)

You think this car is ugly? I don't know what you've been smoking, but beauty is subjective. And not everyone buys a car for speed, because 115 bhp is more than enough for basic driving functions. Many people just like to buy a car for technological convenience and comfort. Plus this car is NOT in the same class as the Z3, because it's a 4 seater luxury convertible, whereas the Z3 is a 2 seat roadster. It's like saying why produce the M5 when you have the M3.<!-- Signature -->

Sorry to say this, but this is definitely NOT what i expect to see from BMW. I mean as far as styling goes, I haven't been pleased with the stuff BMW is putting out lately, but im not complaining much about that now, i mean beauty is subjecive. However, i must comment on the power rating. 115HP is just pitiful, i mean u can't expect to sell this car for much solely because of the power rating, i know people may buy a car for looks, but people have grown to expect power from BMW. this is just rediculous. As big of a BMW fan as I am, i'm disappointed, however, i also have enough confidence in BMW that if this does come into production, they will offer more powerful engines as options at the least. This car will only be competing with MR2's and Miata's with this power rating. I don't think any car with a BMW badge on the front should be brought down to that level. <!-- Signature -->

This is a greaT BMW (NOT IN PERF OF COURSE BUT IN DESIGN)
And a concept car is just drawn up to show a new way of design and to study the reactions.

And for those of you who think this is the slowest BMW ever or something, ever hear of the 318ti? Its prob faster than this, but its no speedster either. The fact of the matter is we can only speculate on the price, performance of the car. What we can talk about is the style and the idea. So give it up. There is not really anyway to tell for sure how this car would do. It does not suck. It does not need a inline 6 M3 engine. It will not replace the Z3. It will not be racing S2000, Viper, or Z06. Give it up.

Finally, someone who understands something about market, competition, and proper comparisons. BMW will always have its powerful performing M cars, but they also want to attract some customers who recieve lower incomes, and to give young individuals (students) the joy of driving a Bimmer. That's what the legendary BMW 2002 offered when it was produced 3 decades ago. The 2002 was a compact and affordable bimmer. BMW is also creating a 116i hatchback with an affordable price tag, which will compete directly with the GTI, Civic SI, Toyota MR2, etc...<!-- Signature -->

Note every car has to have 300hp or more! This is a very good option for people who want to buy a good car that doesn't spend much fuel and and with a lower price than others like this. Personally I like the look and as for the SMG I think BMW will probably introduce it in every model. The future of gearboxes...

m3rhkp, oh yea, I am sure I can't afford this piece of crap if it comes into production, cuz it's going to be the ugliest and slowest BMW, yet with all those technology, it's going to cost me a big forturne, so I don't think I can afford it, and I care if I can afford it or not. Haha.

Either way you look at it, this is still the worst BMW. If you think this is a "styling exercise", then I am very disappointed (some of you don't agree, some of you do). If we're to look at the performance, well, there's nothing to look at. If you (like some ppl) think that they will change the styling, or put a inline six engine in there, or something, then may I ask what is the point of this making this concept? Finally, if you think this is going become a cheap BMW that many ppl can afford, and it is to compete with other crappy cars, then maybe it won't be such a bad car afterall (but it is still very ugly).

The car is beautiful. If i were a middle class person, who dreamed of buying a BMW and couldnt afford it. This is the perfect solution. B\c it doesnt have alot of power(enough power tho), it wont cost me a arm or a leg so now ppl can have all the advanced tech in a small car that is affordable and good on gas. Think about it. Well while u guyz r here trashin this car, BMW will get the last laugh selling plenty of these babies. (comp. to civic coupe, golf coupe, miata, etc.)

Its not all about power and speed....actually IT IS, but not every car. (and we laughed at the crx years ago!!!)
