I wanted to create a real topic on this car since 94Formula was ruining this forum..anyways here it is... WOW...pretty original design, wouldn't you agree? I would say it almost resembles a Mercedes, as far as the body goes? very original design! I like it.
Re: This is a Ferrari? What do you think of it? The interesting thing is that while we consider it a 'Ferrari', the bulk of the exterior design cues are classic, classic Touring coachwork. You can see a lot of these elements in later cars. My personal iteration of this basic body style was the 166MM
Re: This is a Ferrari? What do you think of it? At that time, the only reason 'Il Commendatore' sold road cars at all was to finance the race program, so the coachbuilders had a lot of discretion. You can really spot each coachbuilder's particular design cues- Touring, Scaglietti, and later Pininfarina and Bertone. My personal favorite are the Guigaro designed cars (Daytona, 308, Ghibli, Detomaso Mangusta...)
Didn't Guigaro a;so make the 612 <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/sad.gif"></A> ... I think the 166 looks alot like a Bugatti and a Mercedes had a late night.
