    hey guys calm down, we're talking about the linenfelter vette here...not the viper vs. vette war that will continue till the end of time. In reference to someone on the first page Hennessey does make performance upgrades for vette's but only because Lingenfelter modified a viper. If you were to compare similar cars, then compare modified cars (because we all know that a stock viper doesn't stand a chance against this car) I won't offer any comparisons because I respect both vette's and vipers (vipers a little more) but thats all I have to say

    I have seen pics of the vette with the body kit, and it really makes them look cool. I am wondering if the added weight of the turbos in front makes the car handel worse?

    I need to say that the Lingenfelter Vette is the top dog in my eyes. I love its clean curves and simple design. I heard a little fact that the stock C% has only 70% as many parts as the C4. Less parts and better performace in eery aspect, and then you go and hit it up with a Lingenfelter TT mod. Got to love it.
    As for the Lingenfelter 427 TT Vette that is in the design fase, it is looking to be a true match for anything else on the road. I say this with a great deal of respect and admiration for the McLaren F1. It is still a road god but you should expect it to be if you are going to pay $1 Million plus.

    Numbers on the 427 Vette:

    Power: 725 BHP
    Torque: 650 Lb/ft
    1/4 Mile: 9.767 @ 144.6 Mph

    The Lingenfelter body kit is made mostly of carbon fibber and kevlar, so it is likely that is will reduce the overall weight of the car even with the TT package. As for the TT's dirupting the weight distribution of the car and affecting handling. All I can say is that you do not give Lingenfelter the credithe desirves. I can not see him creating a car that is in anyway less spectuacular then the original. Well except when it comes to fuel consumption.

    My favorite Lingenfelter is the Z06 427 (no tt). Send your Z06 to them, they bore it out and make a couple other mods. Tada, 500hp, 530 ld-ft for under $80,000 (including the price of the Z06). It even out performs my dream car, the Porsche 911 GT2. I have never been a big fan of american cars, but its hard to argue with those numbers.     Yeah, they are very nice. The only thing that kinda sucks in a way is the turbo kit is manufactured by Incon who makes kits for Mustangs and Camaros and it costs around $5k. Heck, the Camaro even has the same engine as a Vette (LS1). Yeah, so Lingenfelter throws in a basic engine overhaul and some other crap but it seems like a ripoff at $40+k. But I guess Vette owners are used to paying alot more for the same stuff. And I'd still take one.
    They are definately fast as one of my friend's has a 93 Supra twin turbo and he got absolutely smoked by one on the freeway. It scared the hell out of him because the Vette cruised up next to him, downshifted and he heard the sneeze of a blow-off valve. not something you hear everyday from a Vette.

    Hennessey doesn't do just 'vettes though. He got to take a look @ the Stage II when Lingenfelter got to look over the Hennessey Vipers, to get some idea as to set up his systems. Hennessey's packages are great #'s but as far as reliable performance goes, Lingenfelter kicks Hennessey's ass. People line up to shake Lingnfelters hand to congratulate him, but ppl line up to ***** Hennessey out from what i've heard from of the ppl in the tuner realm. And, just wait for Ling has a vette thats in the mid 9's in the 1/4 as a TT LS1 still. I havne't heard much about it, but i've had a few 'reliable' friends tell me that this is a real car, capable of possibly doin 250 @ least

    Yes, Lingenfelter is the shit. Also, the TT package that is in the mid 9's is true.

    To attain that time, Lingenfelter combined his top two Corvette packages. One, increased the displacement to make it a 427ci, and the other is this package, Twin Turbos. I dont know any HP or Torque numbers as of yet, but I will post them when I do.

    The official quarter mile time of this 427 TT vette is: 9.524@145.25mph. This is accomplished with an automatic transmission and NO NOS is used. This car will blow the crap out of Henessey's top Viper. That Viper runs the quarter in 9.99 seconds.

    And one reason that Lingenfelter charges so much for his packages is that on all of them he offers a 2 year, 24,000 mile warranty. I would be suprised if you can find any other tuner that will do the same.

    Sweet cars. Lingenfelter is the man.

    Also, the turbochargers in this package are NOT Incon turbos. Different combinations are used by Lingenfelter. All of them are Garret turbos. I have seen two different combinations. One uses modified Garret T28 Turbochargers. The other uses the exhaust stage from a Garret T27, and the compressor stage from a Garret GT30.

    Just wanted to clear that up.

    Well you see one of my favorite things to do is to imbarass Domestic racers you see this is actually a decent car but the TT on a V8 with a Six Spd Trany is a Formittable oponent to the Supra TT (Stock) but with the amount of money put into this package well you wont be able to see an import with this price tag on the mods even if it's a Civic the idea of owning a Corvette is all in the name it's not for the racing ability (Take you 80G or what ever you spent on your vette Buy a used Civic/Rx7/what ever and after spending that 10G put the remaining 70G into the engine sorry domestic racer Try Again) q:p

    I saw one of these babies in a magazine a few weeks ago....out of 5 ...renntech mercedes...porsche...another corvette and some other done up car...

    You are on crack, right? Please tell me you are b/c you can't be that dumb. As far as looks, everybody got their own opinion, I mean hell some people like mustangs. But as far as you're statement about stock vipers beating lingenfelter, you must have rode the short yellow bus.

    The only thing that I have aginst all of these Modifiers is the turbos. If u look at almost every successful import cars they have turbos. Now these people are putting the turbos in the
    American cars. The fastest car in the World has no Turbos!!!. Turbos r a way to make power and speed....u can be just too lazy to figure out a good setup 4 a car and put turbos on it and make it go faster!. There is nothing wrong with it but i think that we shouldnt put them on the true American cars.

    whoever says that imports rule, come to Chicago and lets race. My '96 supercharged impala ss will take your rice burnin ass out. If I don't then ill run your light ass, chink ass off the road with my 4,500 lbs. of Amerian pride. Oh yea and Ford sucks.

    Take your imports back to china where you need a small car. Is it true that in china you cant own a car with more than 2-300 HP?
