So, that Ford (and which Ford are we talking about, by the way?) that could do 220 mph on 500 hp would require a bare minimum of 776 hp to go 254.7. To put it another way, the Sledgehammer "only" needs 567 hp to go 220 mph. Don't forget, it also needs enough ground clearance to be street legal, must wear license plates front and back, and must generate enough downforce to be stable at 254.7, all of which makes drag and costs horsepower. Was all that true of the Ford?
