1. Pop-up lights are pointless - they look good until they're turned on and they cannot be good for aerodynamics. They're getting a bit old now. OH WELL CORVETTES ARE SHIT ANYWAY!!! LIKE THE HEADLIGHTS MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!!!!

ALL YOU AMERICANS CAN SHUT UP ABOUT "BANG FOR YER BUCK" COS I'VE GOT SOME PHRASES FOR YOU "CORNERS", "HANDLING" AND "AGILITY" WITHOUT TRACTION CONTROLL THAT IS!!!

Plain and simple the C5 Corvette owns any comparable Euro sports car in Speed, handling, braking and everything else and we do it for alot less money. Not to mention the fact that we produce alot of Corvette's, the price is cheap, and practicly anyone that really wants one can get one. :D I love living in USA.

The 2002 Corvette Z06 is the best handling car in America, and is capable of outhandling cars such as the Porche 911 Turbo and Lamborghini Diablo. Anyone who says these things cant corner are just arseholes stuck up in the classic "American muscle cars wherent made to turn" stereotype (which has stopped beeing true in the 1980s) and know almost nothing about the car they are bashing.

8. Re: This must be one of the only cars that STILL uses POP-UP HEA

The Corvette has the best cornering, handling, and agility of any Amereican car! AND, who cares about the headlights, most people race during the day.

9. Re: This must be one of the only cars that STILL uses POP-UP HEA

Up until this year the Acura NSX, used pop-up headlights. Currently the Pontiac Firebird, Pontiac Trans Am also uses pop up headlights.

I would not buy a TVR because simply it is a TVR and is a depreciating piece of shit.

I'd like to see a TVR make 19mpg. Man would that be funny.

10. Re: This must be one of the only cars that STILL uses POP-UP HEA

Hey, you wouldn't of happen to have seen the POTD for April 20th, did you? Well it has a Vette with the lights exposed, just so you know. And uh, let me ask you this, what freakin TVR has achieved the status of the Vette alone, much less Chevrolet and GM in general. And just look at the wheelbases, the Griffith 500 has one that is 2286 mm, and the Vette with a 2655 mm wheelbase. And the width, Griffith with a track of 1460 mm for the front, and 1470 mm in the rear; and the Vette has a path 1584 mm in the front and 1589 mm in the rear. So of course that TVR has an advantadge in handling over the Vette just because of the size. But the Vette has still pushed from a .98 to a 1.02 on the skidpad according to various magazines (which I know isn't a reliable source, but if they put it in their mags, then they must have got that figure somehow, unless they wanted to look like idiots, which I don't think they did) But I still haven't heard of or seen anything that says that any TVR pushed that on the pad. And so why don't you just go learn a little about cars and save us all from your ingnorance.

OK, your first couple of points make sense. But the relentless bashing after that completely destroyed you. Lingenfelter corrected this problem, you know...

Very true.

17. Re: This must be one of the only cars that STILL uses POP-UP HEA

Last I checked, the NSX is available in America....idiot. Given that it's slightly slower (due to the considerably lower displacement) and yet it often does better in races in which the Corvette and NSX are both entered, I'd say it has consistently proven that it handles far better. The NSX isn't the only example either.

Unless of course you meant that it's the best handling car made by an American manufacturer.

The Z06 is a rare exception.

Other American cars handle well, but not all that great.

18. Re: This must be one of the only cars that STILL uses POP-UP HEA

Ok.....

What races are you talking about? I know of the "SUPERCHARGED" NSX beating the Vette, however stock VS stock, the Vette is faster, lighter, handles better, and on top of all that is better on fuel.

Now what "American" cars are you talking about that can't handle?
Viper, Mustang, Mosler, S7, as well as the Corvette handle very well.

Hell the new Mosler that should be coming out soon, has a very good chance of becoming the "Fastest Street Legal Car", a position currently held by Mclaren.

19. Re: This must be one of the only cars that STILL uses POP-UP HEA

The reason why we still use em is because we have the balls to use em! Its the American thing to do! If it isnt broke, why fix it? Plus, its been that way since 1963, why change it?

As for your rude and stupid remak about the Corvette being a piece of trash, learn a few things about cars buddy. I dont see too many cars from any parts of the world seriously whomping on this cars performance. Pretty good for a bunch of "Dumb Americans" huh? Why would be it a crime to say that this is the best bang for the buck car you can buy? IT ISNT!!! You say that because there isnt a single car in the entire car for $52,000 or less that can beat, or match a Z06. THERE ISNT!

You fake European loving freaks need to learn that the Corvette is here to stay wether you like it or not. TVR, BMW, Mercedes, Porche, Ferrari, Lamborghini can go suck a fat one. Anyone would love to have one, but in America we have pride in what we build and what we drive...That all comes down to the Corvette. Weve read the articles, weve seen the TV shows, weve even seen it in the movies...Hands down the Corvette is STILL the worlds greatest sports car (pop up headlights and all).
