Top Speed

  1. Is it just me, or do sport sedans (namely BMW and Mercedes) now electronicly limit their cars to 155 mph? I know that you cannot use this power on the street (M5=507) but if these cars can run, let them stretch their legs by going all out at the track.
     
  2. Yes, all german cars are electronically limited to 250 km/h. This can be undone. You can stretch any (european) cars legs a lot below 250 km/h. Cars like the M3 or M5 are made to drive around fast, especially around corners...
     
  3. hahaha, 250 is just what they say. in reality, you could get a car like this to go past 260.

Its not a law, but a "gentalmans agreement" (like the one the Jap manufacters use) to limit them, they did so to avoid a speed limit being put on the autoban, this M3 is good for 160-170 unlimted, the E60 M5 is good for 200~ and the AMG cars are the same way, but if you have that many cars going that fast it would be dangerous even for the autoban
