  1. Yup, today's my birfday. <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>

So, of these cars, what would you guys most like to see more photos/a shoot of?

    Red 512BBi
    Silver 512BBi
    White 512TR
    White Countach
    Black DP Porsche

I'm likely going to shoot one of them Sunday morning, I just don't know which one. The 512TR might actually be out of the question, though.

  2. Woah, happy birthday!! The fam still down there?

And I might be hella biased, but I'd love to see you grab hold of the Countach for the shoot <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/grin.gif"></A>

  3. Red 512BBi please <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>

    EDIT: Happy Birthday man

  4. Thanks guys. No, they left town about a week ago (Monday).

I'm thinking that's what it'll most likely be. I certainly wouldn't mind doing one of the red 512BBis (he has two reds, one is has like 7,000mi and the other is the third from last produced), but I think the Countach is more likely. I could probably get him to do any of them, though.

  5. I pretty much like to see shoots of all those cars <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/tongue.gif"></A>
But if I had to pick it would be the white TR or if that isn't possible one of the Bexers <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>

  6. Awesome ducks.

  7. That Enzo is meeeean. Great stuff.

That license plate is begging for a little D-M logo to fill in the space <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/tongue.gif"></A>

  8. Black on black with straight pipes. Good God man, such a sound. And I'll likely be doing a shoot with it in a few weeks. <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/cool.gif"></A>

  9. cant wait

  10. Freakin A, dude <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/amazed.gif"></A>

Lemme know if you ever need a new roomate and my bags are packed like yeseterday <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/tongue.gif"></A>

  11. I can't believe that people think the Enzo is ugly. It looks great!

  12. It looks a lot meaner in metal than in photos. As most supercars do.

  13. Seriously. I don't know that I'd call it "beautiful", but it has an awesome design and has tons of presence in person. More so that any car, when I see it/am around it, I'm like "damn, now THIS is a car". And I've never come across another car/interior that's made me want to hop in it and drive more than the Enzo's. It was only my second time seeing one in person (which seems weird), and it reestablished my love for it. It's now firmly up towards the top of my "most wanted" list again.

  15. four?!! all in different colours? that could be a very interesting photoshoot!

  16. Yeah, that's what he told me on the phone just a bit ago. I knew he had three, but I'd never heard of the forth. He just referred to them as "the four Boxers", could that be something other than the 512BBi? Like I said, I know he has at least three 512BBis as I've seen three of them. Not all different colors, actually. I'm on 100% on these details:

Red w/ black: Less than 10,000mi (could be the tan one)
Red w/ tan: Third from last built (could be the black one)
Silver w/ black: More of a "daily driver"
    ???: Didn't know he had a forth

  17. you need to tell the SECC to come to the Pavilions more.

  18. Turns out the fourth 512BBi is owned by a friend of his. It's also silver, so it'd be a pair of silvers and a pair of reds. We're probably going to do that and possibly a couple other cars different nights.

  19. sorry to go offtopic again, this is the last time <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/tongue.gif"></A>

    from my 2nd time out <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>

  20. awesome, I'm looking forward to the pics <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/grin.gif"></A>

  21. Like I said, you're a good photographer, it's a good lens. The more you use, it the better the pics will be. As is obvious by this one shot alone. <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>

After reading about all the panning, I took that same lens out across the street to screw around with it the other day. This one was taken at 1/30s. Obviously not a great shot (due to all the shit in front of the car and the car not being great, IMO) and most at this speed will not turn out sharp, but on a track, for example, where you have a lot of opportunities, you can get good results even down this low. Also, I found I had just as good, if not better results with IS off than I did with it on Mode 2.

EDIT: Also, I find I get the best results in the 80-125 range. It's fast enough that with practice you can get a high percentage of sharp shots, while still giving you a nice amount of blur. I can go a little slower and still get a number of good shots, but the percentage goes down significantly after 1/80 for me. Of course, it's also going to vary a lot depending on your focal length and the speed of the cars.

  22. The black one was taken at 1/80th. The gray at 1/40th.

  23. looks very good, even at 1/40!
I haven't tried panning on cars yet (had a beautifull oppertunity with a 360 Spider in a dahldrin-style sunset today, but I was just 30 secs too late), but will do in the coming days. I tried to do flying birds with a slow shutter. That was impossible lol, they're all over the place <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/tongue.gif"></A> Same with running people (I experimented abit at a b-ball practice), because they not only go from left to right, but also up and down..
