Yes it does. You really didn't know that?

Are you really that dim-whitted? You drove a latter model Viper R/T 10 judging by the post. The 1996 GTS and R/T's had ABS, and the exhaust exited through the rear. Plz refer to my earlier post reguarding your antics.

The team managers may be European...yet they chose the Viper and won with it. THREE out of the past FOUR years.

The Viper was not originally made in Europe.

There have been evolutions of this car. 400-hp. 415-hp. 450-hp Gen II (with new block and heads). 460-hp ACR. 500-hp ACR Plus.

You can't go to Nurburgring on the weekend of the 24 Hour *RACE* and race on this track, unless you have a racecar that complies with all racing regulations related to this...RACE.

You can download the regulations at www.24h-rennen.de .

Sure does. But then, this thread is not about Audi.

    Good stuff, guibo.

The Viper was not made in Europe. Rather the engine was partially fabricated in Italy.

Nurburgring is, I believe, the longest road course in existence. (I could be wrong.) Can you imagine getting a flat at the start of a lap, and having to taxi it all the way around?

And who is this cidart kid? Does he even know what Nurburgring is? Does he even know anything about racing, or cars in general?

    I doubt it...

True, Lamborghini did some development on the Gen I engines. Which had to be re-engineered by Chrysler anyway for durability reasons.

Yeah, the Nurburgring is one of the longest tracks, if not the longest. About 13 miles for the old circuit, and then they combine that with the current GP course for the 24 hour race. Just about every type of corner you could imagine, it has it.

Word has it that BMW is officially fielding a factory M3 GTR this year. Should be interesting. Last year's M3 did pretty well, some laps behind the Viper before it either had mechanical failure or an accident.

Yeah, I saw last years' Race. The Viper was in front the entire time. I especially enjoyed the slight crest around the back-sections where all the cars get some lift. They might want to shave it down, though.
I also noticed a Skyline in the race, also. And lots of Bimmers and Porsches.

I think the kid was trying to say that becuase the track is open to the public on non-event days, that winning there is somehow easier or less of a victory.
what he probably doesn't realize is that MOST race tracks are open to the public when not otherwise engaged in sanctioned races becuase that's where the money is.
Oh, and the Viper is certainly a good car, but the power seems awfully low for such a large engine.
I wouldn't want to drive one everyday, but It is certainly a prime example of how American cars can still beat the Europeans from time to time. <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>
